Small enough for a loaded laptop bag yet spacious enough for loads of content, the black 2TB Backup Plus Slim USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate combines portability with useful file storage. Formatted as exFAT and compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box, this drive connects to systems running Windows 7 and higher or macOS 10.11 and higher using its micro-USB port and an included 18" micro-USB to USB Type-A cable that is compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. It is powered via the USB bus, which means that no additional power supplies are required, and also features plug-and-play functionality, meaning that no additional drives are required for use.
Also included with Backup Plus Slim is downloadable Toolkit Backup Software, which lets you backup on demand, schedule automatic backups, and mirror folders for file management. Take advantage of a 1-year subscription to Mylio Create to organize your photos and protect, edit, share, and sync them across multiple devices, and use a 2-month subscription to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography Plan to edit and create using Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC.

The price was right and Seagate is one of the two brands that are a go to for me when I need storage. A hard drive loss will make you address picture storage. I lost some one of kind nature shots in an area not open to me anymore. Copy and store for future use.

My older Seagate FreeAgent 1TB drive is working fine, however, I thought I had better have a new one ready to go. What a great replacement when the time comes. Less than half the size in footprint and of course much faster. This drive is very portable. I was able to plug it in and use it without any fuss whatsover. I appreciate the color (red). Will be easy to identify.

I bought three of these hard drives. The other two (blue and black) worked fine. This one doesn’t work at all. I tried it on two different computers and all it does is make a beeping noise.

It seems to work just fine. I would have given it 5 stars, but had trouble understanding the instructions, my 7 year old grand daughter probably could have installed it though.

This is heavier, and probably of better construction, than the product I purchased of same name a couple of years ago. Comparatively, it is also larger in dimension and thus a bit less portable. Of note, it is also significantly lighter than the 4TB version. 2TB is a fair amount of storage, tho, and strikes a happy medium of size, weight, and storage when anticipating using this for downloads of DSLR memory cards on an international trip, where weight and size are particularly important considerations.
