I have a lot of video files and this External Hard Drive works to perfection every time. I may have to purchase another one real soon, B&H. So get ready.

I’ve been very happy with my drive. I took it out of the box, plugged it in and Time Machine started automatically. It’s been working great so far. It’s quiet and not distracting on my desktop as well. I recommend it.

I have several of these for all my photos. Easy to operate and hold a ton of data. They seem pretty durable also.

follow the instructions that come with the portable HD and you should not have any trouble installing and running the backup drive with your Mac. The unit is very compact and doe not take up much space on your desk.

I’m very happy with the purchase. This hard drive seems ‘fast’ despite the fact that I’m not able to see the RPM spec on the actual drive. I’m very happy with the purchase… especially when it comes with a few months of Adobe Photoshop for free! Not a bad option!

This drive is silent and has a small footprint. Fully USB powered so a power cord is not required. Runs a bit warm. It’s a winner!

Works great.

I just got this, but so far it has been easy to set up and use. One downside is that it’s noticeably weightier than a smaller capacity model I had, which makes it somewhat unwieldy on a USB connection hanging off of a laptop. Also, it gets warmer than I would prefer after a series of 4-5 minute transfers; that will bear some watching.

Good performance for archive – not for A/V, just for backup.

Easy to use.

Using the little short cord, it was immediately recognized by the computer. Time will tell, of course, its reliability. I will the Toolkit software would simply use the date stamp to identify older files instead of adding to the file label. Adding the extra wording to the file label makes it more complicated to simply use copy and paste to restore an old version.

I have a dozen or so of these, we use them to image our server and have a 12 week rotation. They’re pretty bullet proof. Also, they don’t have the built in backup software like the WDs have. We use Bitlocker, so having to first negotiate the built in encryption to get to the Bitlocker login is a pain.

I needed more space in my Xbox and this was just the ticket. I had to do basic configuration in the Xbox Settings but that was easy. The drive was on sale and gives plenty of breathing room for games. One cable and tuck the drive out of sight and play on!

This is a dream for anyone who uses a media player! it’s fast, it’s HUGE capacity makes it a really useful drive. It’s simple to reformat to NTSF (although I use a mac my media player does not utilise HSF) Be advised – it does take longer than any other drive to format. I have Paragon NTSF on my mac and this makes it a snap to transfer files. I was very impressed with the footprint of theSeagate 8TB Desktop Drive with Integrated USB Hub for Mac. Small enough to fit in anywhere. The power supply is excellent, it comes with all plug type adapters for any power outlet world wide. The PSU is beefy too. with a nice 3 amp output. The use hub is handy, you can hang a couple more devices off the drive as well. i would recommend either low powered devices or self powered usb devices such as a desktop hard drive. You must take into account that the hub and drive share the same power supply. All in all a great investment for your home or office, If you need mass storage this one will certainly be the go for you.
