Designed for growing your digital library, the light blue 4TB Backup Plus USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate is formatted as exFAT and compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box. It connects to systems running Windows 7 and higher or macOS 10.11 and higher using its micro-USB port and an included 18" micro-USB to USB Type-A cable that supports USB 3.0, which is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1, as well as USB 2.0. It is bus powered so no additional power supplies are required and also features plug-and-play functionality, meaning that no additional drives are required for use.

It seems to work OK but the lack of product instruction has stopped me from getting my hard drive backup complete. There was a comment on the unit software that said I should back up my data because this unit may delete files. Since it is a backup hard drive I found that to be an odd comment and I have not tried to use it since.

Pretty loud, but a great deal on storage from a reliable manufacturer of hard drives.

Bought this for my partner, and she’s thrilled. She can back up her entire computer on the Hard Drive, and still have tons of room.

My old CaCie backup was full and no longer big enough. The Seagate 4TB was simple to set up and to configure as my backup and my Time Machine source. Loving it!

Lightweight mobile ExHD provides heavyweight performance & storage capacity. We now have 2 and they have worked flawlessly with the USB 3.0 plug.

I am not a technical guy. My main concern about photo products is does it work and is it worth the price. This product fills both needs. I just plugged it in and started filling it up as a backup my photos. Not that camera files are getting larger the transfer times are getting longer.

Awesome way to store your data

It only writes for around 33MB/s with a USB 3.0. This is the slowest hard drive i’ve ever used.

I solely use Seagate for my backup external hard drive. This is my first 4TB sized one and it’s been great. Highly recommend.

B&H gave me good sales support to help me compare and understand how the drive would work. I plugged it in and it immediately backed up my C drive. After a few days I had a few questions about functions and ways to set the drive up. I like the scheduled backup feature. I got quick telephone help from Seagate. So the drive is all set up to function the way I want it to.

I bought a 4tb external drive but it turned out not to work, I had to send it back, but paid for transportation from Armenia

I own two of these 8TB Drives, one is the White Mac version and the other is the black generic 8TB version with the 2 USB hubs. I love these drives. So far, fast and reliable. I switched to Seagate for all my backups about 3 years ago. So glad I did.

It’s a hard drive. No way to rate its longevity until later. The blue color is more aluminum than blue, but fortunately I don’t care. It’s a little thicker than my 1T hard drive, but then it’s five times the capacity, so I’m happy. Oh. The teeny-tiny issue? The USB side of the connecting wire is all white, and though the sides are embossed differently, it’s impossible for me to tell which side is up. So I marked the top side with a sharpie and all is now well.

It’s small and worked great right out of the box. No problems. Hopefully it stays that way.

Seagate is only one of two brands from which I will purchase this type of electronic. Very easy to use and is always dependable.

Quiet, fast, cold – that’s how I can describe this hard drive! I have more than 10 devices, and after two years everything is in excellent condition.
