I really love this HD, it is a very fast and quiet hard drive, and love the USB hub, its a great feature for use with macbook that only have 1 USB 3.0

I own a couple of these. I tried another well known brand and two of them failed on me relatively early in their lifespan. The ones I have run everyday for 8-10-12 hours and I’ve never had a Seagate fail. Pricing is on par with other manufacturers.

Nice to have 8 Tb of storage. A little awkward cable set up but works fine for Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner when attached to my iMac and is reasonably fast. I had trouble when attaching it to my network via the router (Asus) but this is probably due to file format or my incompetence.

Very compact. It’s small enough to fit in a pocket comfortably. Has a fairly low write speed. Transferred a 400gig file to it and after looking at the progress, decided to go do something else and come back. I just might pick up a second one.

I am completely shocked. I started to use this drive as archive. Now, its dead. Do NOT buy Seagate! This is not my first dead Seagate drive, but this is the first that died in less than a years.

Only harddrive I will ever use to back up my work from my freelance design and photography business. I also reformat and use this device as my working drive for photo editing.

I bought this drive to replace a 500 GB external drive on my desktop, which had died with less than 50% of the space filled. I was a bit surprised how small it is, but it does the job and the backup software is easy to use. I’m sure that it is designed mainly for portable use with a laptop and if I ever get a laptop I will be sure to try it out.

The purchase process thru B&H was flawless during the pandemic. Quick and Easy. This drive is somewhat slow. The support manual is so small that you need magnifying glass to read it. This is an average unit.

I solely use Seagate for my backup external hard drive. This is my first 4TB sized one and it’s been great. Highly recommend.

Have gone with Seagate drives for years. Great to see a 5T drive. Already filling it up.

Plugged it in, and was able to immediately work with my Linux laptop. The speed seems very good, based on my experience with previous drives. With our photography activity, we need a lot of storage. (only problem, which is mine alone, is that I cannot seem to re-label the drive under Linux. While a minor nit, it is not an important issue, and may be solved by borrowing a Win***s system from a friend and re-labeling there)

I purchased 3 of these drives on 06/24/2020. All arrived in great condition and I put them to work storing my music files. They worked great and are very fast. And then 1 drive failed to show up on my device listing. I attempted to access it with disk management but cannot see it at all.

Being a not so tech gal this was easy as pie to set up with no problems and take up little space on my desk and will hold lots of my raw file. Great drive.

Nice and clean design. So far so good, no problem hooking it up to both my imac and macbook pro. Work quietly and did not take that much space, perfect for my small desk. I am very happy with my purchase.
