Description
Built with the form factor of a credit card, the 1TB One Touch USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive from Seagate lets you seamlessly scroll, edit, organize, and directly stream a large collection of stored photos and videos. Beneath its black exterior, the One Touch is equipped with a 1TB hard drive and a bus-powered USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) interface. The One Touch is formatted as exFAT, meaning it will work with both Windows 7 and later as well as macOS 10.12 and later without the need for a reformat. However, a reformat may be required for use with Apple’s Time Machine.
Included with Seagate’s One Touch HDD is an 18″ USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable, a one-year membership to Mylio Create, and a four-month membership to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography plan.
Note: Both Mylio Create and Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography Plan are redeemable during product registration and may not be available in all countries. Adobe’s plan is available to users 13 and older, requires a network connection, an Adobe ID, and must be redeemed within one year of drive registration.

It’s a hard drive, it works. Only problem I have (one which all hard drives have) is that the ‘size’ is always grossly overstated. Actually size, about 3.6TB. If you needed 4, get a 5TB drive. :-/

Tested at 65 MB/s write and 58 MB/s read on a USB 2 interface with a reformatting from exFAT to Apple’s APFS disk format. At $35/TB including tax and shipping, this is the best price/performance tradeoff currently available. Offers for disk recovery and photo storage and Adobe on line photo stuff is deemed worthless since all require giving personal information and files away and requiring storing all personal files on other people’s servers.

This is my second Seagate USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive and because of the reliability of the first one I purchased this one. I use them for backing up photos that I process and the Seagate External Hard drives have never let me down. I can highly recommend these to others because of the reliability I have experienced. And, B&H is the place to buy from. I have found the B&H order, shipping, and customer service to be outstanding. Easy to place and check the status of orders. Even in the early days of Covid shipping went out on time. Customer service has been professional and very responsive. One time I placed an order and used the wrong credit card. Very attractive piece of equipment and easy to use. I bought 2 of them (1 for each of my computers). Probably worth it to pay a few more dollars to get the larger 4 TB. Easy to use once you understand. Can get a bit confusing but a quick call to their excellent technicians took care of my questions. Much preferred over my previous WD product purchases.

Seagate backups have never failed me, and this is another drive I use for photo library copies or Time Machine backups. I’m glad that the case on this drive has some texture on the back. I already had Seagate Backup Plus drives with very smooth plastic; slick enough that I was worried that they might slip right off my desk (fixed that with Xcellon anti-slip pads). No problem with this One Touch drive. For me, the included 4-month Adobe CC Photoshop (Lightroom in my case) subscription is a bargain beyond belief.

My video & photography business eats up space like crazy (as I’m sure you all know). The 2 TB has been a great inexpensive solution for storage. Transfer speed is fast enough for photo work, but lags a little if trying to edit video direct. Better to transfer to open space on PC HD then back again when through. I like Ruggard case option for use on site. Great prices.
