Built with a compact form factor and ready for on-the-go usage, the 2TB Expansion Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate is preformatted exFAT, meaning it is compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box. This hard drive provides a storage capacity of up to 2TB and connects to your host system using its micro-USB 3.0 interface, which also provides bus power using an included USB 3.0 cable, meaning that no external power is required. Copy and saving data is easy – simply drag and drop. Also included is Seagate’s Rescue Data Recovery Services.
Please note that reformatting may be required for use with Apple’s Time Machine. Also, Rescue Data Recovery Services is not available in all countries.

These drives are notorious for failing after a few months. Mine refuses to mount on any computer.

Being a techno-nerd, I found the setup of the Drive to be easy even for me. So far, so good…as far as I know, it’s working fine.

I needed a lot of space for raw photo files on remote photography trips and 4 terrabytes should be plenty. I’ve had good luck with Seagate and use them for my RAID system backups. This portable drive comes in a small package but isn’t as shock proof as a Lacie so I purchased a Ruggard case to hold it while traveling. I’d prefer an SSD but a comparable drive would be too expensive for my needs. So far so good.

I saw this good price and purchased because it was bus powered. Copies very fast with no problems what so ever. Helped me tremendously transferring from old computer 2015 to new Super PC 2020 with out any problems. These drives would make great gifs of someone.

Plenty of room to backup your old PC when you move to Windows 10 on that new PC. And it’s so small you can put all your photos and files in your pocket.

These are very reliable hard drives, great for video/audio work. I’m hoping they can increase size to 5TB+, until they make the SSD drives cheaper.

I bought the 2 TB, portable External Hard Drive which is more than enough storage for me. I back up all my files so as I won’t lose them if my desk top powers down or if the power goes out. I have a surge protector also. I like it because it is small, light and has a fast speed. I would have liked it if it was white,

This is great drive to archive my footage, renders and other large files. I’ve had consistent performance with Seagate drives.

Who would believe that an external drive would be anything other than a plug-and-play? Well, this drive not only could not take files copied from my other drive, but it locked up my computer when I tried to restart. I had to remove the drive and restore the computer to salvage get it running again. Even after formatting the drive multiple times at the suggestion of Seagate’s tech support, it still would not take the transfer from my other drives. It would stop after several minutes and say that the drive needed to be formatted. Seagate’s tech support was prompt, and they tried to be helpful, but all I have after a week is a black brick that I am scared to reconnect to my computer. The Seagate SeaTools program diagnostic software that their tech support suggested wouldn’t even recognize the drive in order to diagnose it. My previous experience with Seagate back-up drives has been good, which is the reason I opted for this new 4TB version.
