Built with a compact form factor and ready for on-the-go usage, the 2TB Expansion Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate is preformatted exFAT, meaning it is compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box. This hard drive provides a storage capacity of up to 2TB and connects to your host system using its micro-USB 3.0 interface, which also provides bus power using an included USB 3.0 cable, meaning that no external power is required. Copy and saving data is easy – simply drag and drop. Also included is Seagate’s Rescue Data Recovery Services.
Please note that reformatting may be required for use with Apple’s Time Machine. Also, Rescue Data Recovery Services is not available in all countries.

Drives either work or they don’t. And this one works. It’s a small form factor hard drive so the performance isn’t great compared to physically larger drives, but it’s on par with other drives of it’s size.

I’ve bought a few of these and most work just fine. However, one did freeze up and, after reformatting, it worked ok again. This meant I lost all the data I entered previously which was annoying.

Great drive no problems

I am using it as a reliable back up for my files. I add new files all the time, as I delete some old ones. Seagate 1TbExpansion Portable 3.0 Eternal Hard Drive works flawless.

No problem on initial setup. then it would not be recognized by the computer. a day later it was recognized. transferred some files over(as a backup). Fine for a week then not recognized by the computer again. Giving up on seagate

Works great. Have a YouTube channel and my hard-drive on laptop was getting full. This solved my issue for this year. Will be getting another later.

I’ve always had good luck with Seagate products. I wouldn’t call this drive robust, but it’s decent quality and performs well.

These hard drives feel cheap. I hope they last. I wouldn’t trust them with anything important. I guess you get what you pay for

This is the second unit of this model that I’ve bought. I use them for weekly backups. I bought the first one about a year ago, and it works fine. The read/write speed is decent, similar to other USB 3.0 external drives I’ve used.

This drive is backwards compatible with the old 2.0 USB drives. I have been using it on an old laptop, and I have not experienced any problems.

The Seagate 2TB external hard drive is perfect for our needs as a backup. It very much plug and play, much the same as a flash drive would be but so nice not to be concerned about enough storage. It is a little bigger than a 3×5 index card and about 1/2 inch thick. With a price of $55, you can’t go wrong.

The drive is overall amazing, incredibly small, and not too loud. The only issue is that it can be quite slow. I only got up to 50 MB/S write speed sequential, so I wouldn’t recommend running an OS on it as I did, you should use an SSD instead.
