Built with a compact form factor and ready for on-the-go usage, the 2TB Expansion Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate is preformatted exFAT, meaning it is compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box. This hard drive provides a storage capacity of up to 2TB and connects to your host system using its micro-USB 3.0 interface, which also provides bus power using an included USB 3.0 cable, meaning that no external power is required. Copy and saving data is easy – simply drag and drop. Also included is Seagate’s Rescue Data Recovery Services.
Please note that reformatting may be required for use with Apple’s Time Machine. Also, Rescue Data Recovery Services is not available in all countries.

I love the portability with this storage device. I’m a Digital Media/Photography student so the space comes in VERY handy as I work on projects both at home and at school. And I love the textured design, it’s aesthetically pleasing to me.

This came as a free gift when I bought something else. The drive is so slow that I haven’t figured out when/how to use it. Feels cheap. Do I trust my data to this? Unlikely.

desperately needed new, larger portable external HD for laptop. may ’20 bought seagate 5TB; was priced better than WD which my two previous HDs (1TB, 2TB) are. now, i’m concerned… device frequently gets hot & its cover is thin. all in all, it’ll do & i’ll keep my fingers crossed for dependability.

It was quite easy to use, but slightly confusing at first probably due to my lack of expertise. After my friend helped a little, it was very smooth. It backed up my tablet in less than 2 hours, and I feel a lot less insecure about losing all my projects. I intend to use it to backup files on a regular basis now. I would buy this again and have recommended it to others.

Easy to use with two laptops here. Only rated 4 due to no instructions with it and link to them didn’t work. Nice product overall.

I have used Seagate drives since 2002 when I built my first workstation. It had three Seagates in it. Now I have a Zalman GS1000 which holds eight drives, six easily hot-swappable. They run anywhere from 24/7 to just 10 hours/day. They are reliable. I have only lost three since 2002, but I have dozens. I store my Docs on one, music on one, audio recordings, AFX & music on one, media project support on one and then projects, companies and TB’s of video on others including master DVD’s, CD’s, BluRays and others. I have used other drives like WD but I buy these because they work and last. Sure you can use SSD’s but these are WAY cheaper. And cloud storage? Only for the ignorant and foolish (mine would cost nearly a $1,000/year. Learn how to use HDD’s they save money and time.

I purchased this external hard drive to back up my computer and store my thousands of images, freeing up some space. I plugged it in and it did it’s thing, loading up the software to communicate with my computer. No errors involved and my backup went smooth. The transferring of my images went way faster than I expected, and I’m happy having a lot more room left on the device for future use.

I have just acquired several of these drives, and have loaded them up, so far with no problems whatsoever, from a 2014 vintage iMac. The drives are very quiet, and seem reasonably fast. I would say they are an excellent value, and very subtle and minimalist in their design. No complaints whatever, and B&H are excellent at shipping to Canada. Gotta love free shipping!

Moved thousands of photos to this drive fast and without a problem.

My very first computer in 1992 came with a Seagate Drive. I was told they were the most dependable at the time. I would say they still are.

I purchased it to back-up important data from my computer. Then my laptop was stolen from me on Halloween. I used this Seagate Hard Drive to save the progress I made while writing my novel in the month of November. I completed my book in late December. Ever since, whenever I connect my hard drive to a computer it doesn’t show up at all. I cannot access any of the data that I don’t have backed up anywhere else. I purchased my Seagate External Hard Drive on Oct. 2. It’s Dec. 2 and it is no longer functional.

I bought this to use as DVR storage for an AirTV2 in part because there was a really good deal on it and in part because it was certified to work with the product. The AirTV2 is only USB 2.0 so speed is not really an issue for my purpose. The drive operates fine with the AirTV2 and is whisper quiet so I’m happy.
