Built with a compact form factor and ready for on-the-go usage, the 5TB Expansion Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate is preformatted exFAT, meaning it is compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box. This hard drive provides a storage capacity of up to 5TB and connects to your host system using its micro-USB 3.0 interface, which also provides bus power using an included USB 3.0 cable, meaning that no external power is required. Copy and saving data is easy – simply drag and drop. Also included is Seagate’s Rescue Data Recovery Services.
Please note that reformatting may be required for use with Apple’s Time Machine. Also, Rescue Data Recovery Services is not available in all countries.

It was quite easy to use, but slightly confusing at first probably due to my lack of expertise. After my friend helped a little, it was very smooth. It backed up my tablet in less than 2 hours, and I feel a lot less insecure about losing all my projects. I intend to use it to backup files on a regular basis now. I would buy this again and have recommended it to others.

Great for backup in the field.

Good external drive. I didn’t need SSD for this application. No problems at all.

It did the trick and I’m satisfied with the purchase. It was bought at a reasonable price. Fast service!

This came as a free gift when I bought something else. The drive is so slow that I haven’t figured out when/how to use it. Feels cheap. Do I trust my data to this? Unlikely.

Wow, I was blown away by just how tiny this was. When it arrived I was sure that they accidentally sent me a small 512gb or something but nope…5TB! Used it immediately as I am replacing my computer with a new one through a warranty claim and the backup was so smooth.

We recently ran out of room on our PlayStation and the two options was to change out the internal drive for a bigger drive or add and external hard drive and for me the external hard drive seemed to be an easier option and this was so easy to set up. Setting this up only took a minute and it just going to the PlayStation devices and formatting the device and then changing the setting so the any new games and app would be installed on the hard drive. Another plus with the external hard drive when I’m not using it on the PlayStation I can also use it to save important documents so that I have back ups and because the hard drive is so small I can easily grab it and toss it in my purse, it is literally about the size of my hand so it is super portable. Also space wise this is really quiet enough for a ton of files and games as it’s about six times the space my PlayStation has on it to begin with so I feel like it will take me awhile to fill up. Overall I’m really happy with the external harddrive and think it’s definitely useful to have.

I was surprised how light the drive assembly was and still seems to be rugged. Used it for about three weeks now and have not had any issues.

Worked great out of the box, no hiccups backing up my files.

I’m insanely busy overseeing a million digital art projects ( working at the university) and this is just plug and play heaven….. easy, fast well, I wish it was faster , but ok does the job, reasonable price (never raise it !) B&H is reliable, fast order set up, delivery, one and done. AMAZING!

2TB for $70??? It’s hard to find anything to complain about. If I ever win the ‘review your gear’ contest for B&H, maybe I’ll buy a whole bunch of these!

I own more than a half dozen of Seagate portables going back years and have never ever had any issues unlike some other brands. I use these for photo backups and backups of my backups mostly and wouldn’t think to use anything other than a Seagate . . .

My very first computer in 1992 came with a Seagate Drive. I was told they were the most dependable at the time. I would say they still are.

Great price, fast device on USB3. I put this on my Linksys WRT1900AC router as a shared local drive for storing videos and backing up my PC. Works well.

I’ve always had good luck with Seagate products. I wouldn’t call this drive robust, but it’s decent quality and performs well.

desperately needed new, larger portable external HD for laptop. may ’20 bought seagate 5TB; was priced better than WD which my two previous HDs (1TB, 2TB) are. now, i’m concerned… device frequently gets hot & its cover is thin. all in all, it’ll do & i’ll keep my fingers crossed for dependability.
