Built with a compact form factor and ready for on-the-go usage, the 5TB Expansion Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate is preformatted exFAT, meaning it is compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box. This hard drive provides a storage capacity of up to 5TB and connects to your host system using its micro-USB 3.0 interface, which also provides bus power using an included USB 3.0 cable, meaning that no external power is required. Copy and saving data is easy – simply drag and drop. Also included is Seagate’s Rescue Data Recovery Services.
Please note that reformatting may be required for use with Apple’s Time Machine. Also, Rescue Data Recovery Services is not available in all countries.

I’ve bought a few of these and most work just fine. However, one did freeze up and, after reformatting, it worked ok again. This meant I lost all the data I entered previously which was annoying.

Bought this to store all the PS4 games on my PS5. I’ve had it for a couple weeks and so far, so good -no issues. The PS4 games play like they should and I can save the internal SSD storage for the PS5 games. There is no need for external power. Just plugged it into the PS5, it recognized the drive right away, did the PlayStation reformat, and it was ready to go. No idea yet about the durability.

My son absolutely loves this portable expansion pack. It has plenty of room for storage. It works really well. We have not had any issues and he can even use it with his game console. It is made very well and has tons of storage space. It is perfect for work,, school,, or gaming. I would most definitely recommend this product to others!

I purchased this hard drive because I needed more space to download games for my PlayStation 4 since I only do digital downloads. It was easy to set up and has been great so far!

I am an avid photographer and needed more storage space for my digital images to avoid using space on my laptop. I had purchased one of these Seagate drives for my daughter a year ago and she has been using it almost daily without any problems. It is convenient for taking files with you when you need more than a flash drive and don’t want to carry your laptop.

I purchased two of these drives one for my playstation 4 and one for my xbox 1 consoles the drives started off working fine but today exactly a month after I purchased the hard drives one hard drive stopped working. The hard drive stopped working on my xbox 1 and when I tried to connect it to my laptop it wasn’t appearing on my laptop I decided to send back both hard drives for a full refund.

It’s lightweight, compact, USB powered, and so far it’s working nicely. And B&H delivered it very, very fast.

It works as intended and is pretty fast when writing and reading from the drive. No complaints.

I needed a simple, easy to use external hard drive to back up some photos. This external HD is plug and play and works immediately. Speed is good enough for the price I paid and I will be purchasing more in the future.

I’ve been using this drive for about 2 weeks, and so far I like it with some reservations. It’s relatively quiet and the r/w speeds are on par with the competition. The only thing I don’t like about this drive (so far) is the lack of rubber feet… it tends to slide around on metal surfaces (like when sitting on top of your case). Over the past 7 years, I’ve purchased about two dozen WD My Passport drives, and came to discover they have a tendency to fail at around the 2-3 year mark. After the last recent failure, I decided to give Seagate a try, so we’ll see how this drive lasts. As a side note, I think any moving platter technology should be considered portable temporary storage, and not a backup. I may eventually move to SSD drives as the capacities increase

A lot of storage, but can be slow loading, and got a bit hot loading. I like that it’s portable – we travel for work and don’t want to have to bog down our laptops with extra files, so this is great to use until we get home to load into our desktop. Does what an expansion drive is supposed to.

Only just received it and it works fine. Comparatively speaking works as well as the two Western Digital models I’ve had for a lower price. As with all harddrives the proof of how good it is to see how long it lasts after years of good performance.
