Add space, consolidate files to a single location, or free up space on your system’s internal drive with the 6TB Expansion Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate, which is preformatted exFAT, meaning it is compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box. This hard drive provides a storage capacity of up to 6TB and connects to your host system using its micro-USB 3.0 interface. Copy and saving data is easy – simply drag and drop. Included is an 18″ USB 3.0 cable, an 18W power adapter, Seagate’s Rescue Data Recovery Services, and Toolkit backup software.
Please note that reformatting may be required for use with Apple’s Time Machine. Also, Rescue Data Recovery Services is not available in all countries.

Good value for what you get. Not the fastest interface, but this is my third one in 3 years (360 video files are big). I would prefer this with a newer faster interface USB C, however at this price that probably won’t happen for a few years.

Worked out of the box. Feel confident all my files are being backed up.

1) no power on/off switch. 2) disk keeps spinning at most time even not in use. 3) not a quiet disk during sliming. 4) only mount vertical on desk (cannot reposition rubber feet) 5) noisy Fisk.

Great non-Shingled Magnetic Recording Exos Enterprise-level drive inside!

Have only been using it for a month but so far, so good. It is smaller than I expected and also winds down to sleep mode once my back up is complete so I don’t have to worry about powering it off and on. Overall, it serves it purpose w/o hassle. I would buy it again.

Works seemlessly.

incredible how reliable is this big hard drive for the low price it has. I have 17 hard drives full of back up of images, I am a photographer and I always rely on seagate hard drives, for years

I already had one of this brand 6TB, I love how it works so now I took an 18TB, and I’m satisfied!

Tried to get this drive to mount on 3 of my Macs (running 10.13.3) to no avail. Maybe I just got a bad one?

This is my 5th Seagate 8TB drive and I have had no problems with any of them.I’m an amateur photographer and these drives are perfect for everyday use or backup and a great price!!

I bought this to back up my Samsung SSDs for video work. After 4 months, I keep getting an error saying that my MacBook Pro can’t repair the drive and suggests backing up the drive as soon as possible. It is now a read-only drive with no way to fix it except formating.

For some reason it takes twice as long to transfer files than mu old USB 2 drive. Very disappointing performance for a USB 3 drive

I had the 8Tb version, and it was fine, but the 14Tb went on sale, so I snapped it up. A tiny bit slower and louder than the 8Tb model, but nearly double the storage. Plug it in only when needed, otherwise it’ll slow down other computer functions.

What can I say..a lot of storage for not too much $$. Get it!

Upgraded from my previous extern hard drive, due to requiring more space. Transferred all the files over, easily.

If you are looking for an inexpensive, reliable and say to use backup solution, here it is. Great for the price, capacity and convenience. Yes, a bit noisy and slow, but this is not an issue for occasional backups.

Does exactly what I need it to do. This is my second one. Perfect.

Love this hard drive. It’s fast and reliable.

We are using it as a Time Machine Drive for a Retina iMac for video work. No Problems!
