Description
Add space, consolidate files to a single location, or free up space on your system’s internal drive with the 6TB Expansion Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from Seagate, which is preformatted exFAT, meaning it is compatible with Windows and Mac right out of the box. This hard drive provides a storage capacity of up to 6TB and connects to your host system using its micro-USB 3.0 interface. Copy and saving data is easy – simply drag and drop. Included is an 18″ USB 3.0 cable, an 18W power adapter, Seagate’s Rescue Data Recovery Services, and Toolkit backup software.
Please note that reformatting may be required for use with Apple’s Time Machine. Also, Rescue Data Recovery Services is not available in all countries.

I currently own 4 Seagate drives. The smallest is 500GB purchase at least 10 years ago from B&H. I use it for all my music files that I play every day. Been a solid drive. However I was worried that it would die and I would not have back up for that one. So purchased the 4TB. I have a similar one purchase about 5 years ago. Used on my other device. I will always buy Seagate. Easy to use, plug and play. I don’t use any of the Seagate automated functions. Just do my own backups and storage. I did have a Seagate drive crash a while back. Which was used every day almost continuous playing audio files. But that is to be expected. Plus I think it got knocked over a few times. Can’t go wrong with Seagate.

This is my 2nd purchase for this model drive. Haven’t had any issues with them so far. I had to format these before using, which takes about 24 hours, which helps insures my writing on these later without errors. I’m using these on my server to store movies on my Plex, which I haven’t had any lag or hesitations on movies when watching them. They do rattle a little at times when reading/writing but not enough to bother me. The drives do run a little on the warm side but during the cold days helps to keep my room warm. In the summer gotta make sure to keep the room air conditioned/cool to avoid overheating/failures. I would get another if these get full.

This is a great HDD. I wish it had a power button to be switched off when not in use. I use this connected to my LG monitor instead of macbook air itself and it works great that way.

This is a quality drive. It is a shingled drive so don’t expect continuous blazing speed. When you edit a file, it has to write it somewhere else then rewrite three tracks to make the old location available again. It does that between reads and writes, so it needs downtime for disk maintenance. I would not put it in a RAID array. Also filling it past 80% will slow it down. But for a backup drive or to store data that is not being constantly altered it does very good. To store my documents, photos and music it is great. You get a lot of data in a small package with this drive.

This hard drive works great if you don’t move it. It is a bit slow to respond though. It takes a couple seconds to wake up if I stop using it for a while.

Ordered quickly from Amazon the first time and the Seagate 8TB that arrived was obviously fake. The ac power adapter cheap and flimsy, the lettering on the drive itself crooked, and it would never even power up. Returned and purchase the real thing from B&H. Let it be a lesson, just purchase from B&H and avoid the flimflam artists out there.

The product is very good. But the delivery went to a wrong address, and it was opened. The item brought to my address on Sunday, 01/26/2020 around noon. Hoping my next purchases from H&B will deliver to the correct address before took off…
