Benchmark difference is negligible in real-world and it just comes down to reliability. My Barracuda 510 hasn’t had any hiccups or weird behavior like (my now returned) WD SN750’s few seconds of halt while transferring a game. Being a Seagate drive, I would expect QC to be better than most other brands as well. At the end, it’s a fast and reliable drive that is cheaper than Samsung 970s. Recommended!

There are many choices when it comes to M.2 NVME SSDs and I looked at over a dozen prior to making this purchase. Sometimes finding in-stock items is even a challenge, but I settled on the Seagate 512GB (that maxes out my M.2 drive capability). Because of the ‘slots’ on my motherboard, I was confused about the NVME-SATA controversy (make sure you get the right SSD or it simply won’t work), but a helpful email from B&H’s service center ensured me I’d made the right decision. He was right. The install was done within minutes. I fired the machine up and, along with the additional RAM I’d gotten recently, my computer became an absolute beast. The Seagate 512 is a powerfactory, a true powerhouse. It is blazing quick and my machine instantly recognized it. Having access to half a terabyte of space on the new C/boot drive is amazing. I had, incidentally, only one M.2 drive (unless I converted another drive bay for M.2 use), so I had to buy an enclosure (I bought Sabrent NVMe PCIe M.2 to USB 3.1 Gen 2 USB Type-C SSD Enclosure , which has built-in software for cloning). That cloning took probably 15 minutes or so and worked like a charm. I’m 100% satisfied with both the purchase experience, service, and the product. I could have (OK, should have) paid for quicker delivery, but didn’t– and COVID slowed the product down a little, but no problem. The only *negative* with the process is that these DO NOT come with screws for the drive. You may not have the needed stabilization for the M.2 and I went to a hardware store to get the right threaded screw (maybe a metric M2 12 I think). Other than that headache, it was a fantastic experience and I’m now ready to repurpose my former 128GB tiny M.2 as a nice backup drive. Good work B&H.
