The senco duraspin head for corded Dewalt screwgun is a must have for any that does more than a few sheets a year. The attachment is very well engineered and easy to mount on and take off. The head is all metal where it counts to take the abuse the attachment will take. The head us very easy to adjust in between screw sizes making it very versatile. There is a fine adjustment on it so you can sink the screw to the perfect depth needed

I’ll never go back to the manual way. Honestly wasn’t sure if it would work, but after driving the fifth and sixth screw home I was sold!I will never go back to the one at a time, pick up a screw and put it the bit holder and hope I can drive it straight and true. The SENCO attached to my DEWALT DW272 drill driver worked effortlessly. I drove home 25 screws into my deck almost as fast as I could move the tool to the next location. The SENCO attachment is easy to adjust. From 1″ up to 2″ in 1/4″ increments. Feeding the strips was straight forward. Removing them from the attachment is easy too. The depth gauge is fairly intuitive and worked great. I went from the head sticking out of the plank, to the prefect depth every time. My kit came with a number 2 square and Phillips head 3-inch long screw driver bit. I bought an extra set of each, since I purchased a bucket of decking screws and know the tips will eventually wear. But surprisingly each sunk the screws without tearing or camming out. Speaks well of both the driver, tool and screw manufacturer. OK, the bad news. You have to take apart your drill driver and install the new attachment. For some reason my DEWALT DW272 didn’t come with a manual. It looked like the box was opened and it got lost. Anyways, not a problem. I went online and looked up the DEWALT DW272 and found a video that walked me through the removal of the driver head and clutch. SECRET: its a LEFT HANDED SCREW on the driver head. After getting the head apart (see my photos) the next thing to tackle was the removal of the original drill driver screw bit holder. A little tough but know I know the simple steps to disassemble and reassemble the tool.Next I added the included SENCO adapter to my drill-driver. Next I added the 3-inch drill bit, aligned the notch of the feeder to the adapter, and followed the graphic on the adapter ring to lock it in place. Like anything, the first time seemed forever, but I mastered it and can do this in a few seconds. So now I have a tool box with my DEWALT DW272 driver and my new favorite tool, the SENCO DS230-D1 .

All the crucial components are made from STEEL, not plastic. That’s important for long-term durability and reliable function. LARGE white markings that indicate screw-size settings are easy to see, even with my aging eyes. Adjustments are easy too! Just press the selector-pin and slide the nose piece. It locks into place securely. No tools needed! The screw-carriage is made of wear-resistant polycarbonate. This is one place where plastic is BETTER than steel because it is smooth, low-friction and slightly conformal, so collated-screws slide through easily. So far, NONE have jammed.Installation is simple: 1- Remove the nose cone of your driver, (like the DW272)2- screw on the accurately machined adaptor, 3- insert the long bit of your choice, 4- attach and lock the device. This is held VERY securely in place with one quick twist of the locking ring. Again, NO TOOLS are needed. It disassembles just as easily. The package comes with TWO different bits: One for Phillips head screws, One for #2 square-drive.A feature people seldom discuss is the MANUAL and PARTS DIAGRAM. Here, Senco provides a well written ENGLISH manual with LARGE type so it’s easy to read. That’s important! Users need a clear, well written manual to properly instal this device. Also appreciated is the separate one-page parts diagram. That makes it easy to carry along with the tool in a tool box so that, when you eventually do need a part or service, you can FIND the thing fast! I wish more manufacturers would do that! This turns a DeWalt 272 into a reliable pro-level screw-gun for a fraction of the price. Because it can be detached so easily, you can pack it into a small tool box along with a standard drywall screw-gun. Compared to other pro-options, this saves space, weight and money. Over several decades, I’ve used a number of Senco drywall screwdrivers. All of them have performed well. From every indication, I expect this to continue in that tradition. The only potential criticism I have is that this relies upon using those long-shafted bits. Regardless of price or quality, ALL driver bits eventually need replacement. So, I’d like to know where to get these essential bits economically. Other than that, I think this could be a space-saving and money saving addition to any professional’s tool kit. Given the low price, I’d say it would be a practical addition for any do-it-yourself property owners too.

This auto feed screwdriver attachment by Senco is a great addition to my toolbox. The attachment is high quality and the fit is excellent. This tool gives you the ability to attach it to a screw gun and have auto feed and depth adjustment. The feed mechanism places screws in place before you drive them in, giving it faster and constant performance. The nose piece can be set to 1″ to 2″ and does not require a tool to adjust. The nose piece is universal for wood and drywall applications. I also like that it has a durable metal frame.

I got this Senco DS230-D1 2 in. Auto-Feed Screwdriver Attachment for my Dewalt DW255 screw gun. Putting one screw at a time in my DeWalt DW255 works well but over the day it just wastes a lot of time. And as the old saying goes “Time is money”. This Senco DS230-D1 attachment installed on my screw gun only took a couple of minutes. When I first looked at after attaching it I thought it going to be really nose heavy. However, to my surprise it was not. It was still fairly well balanced. The Senco can handle screws from 1″ long to 2″ long. The collated screws come in 50 screws per strip and load easy. This little beauty will really be saving me a lot of time. And also being a Senco I know it will last for years.
