The Shop Fox shaper arrived well packaged and with no shipment damage. But, with the first attempt to deliver, the shipping company sent it to my house on a truck with no lift gate. Being the shaper weighed in at 444 lbs, that included the pallets it was on, I had to refuse it as I had no means of getting it off the truck. Fortunately, the shipper arrived early the next morning with a lift gate truck. The shaper itself weigh in the neighborhood of 350 lbs. I was able by myself to get if off the pallets, unboxed and installed on a Grizzly mobile base. If you think that it was no problem, I am 72 years old, but in excellent physical shape. The shaper is very robust and well built. You have to install the power switch, motor rotation control, wing extension and the fence. A word of caution, the motor comes with a brace you must remove. In the instructions it only mentions a brace on the top of the motor. But there is a second brace that is hard to see on the bottom of the motor. Both braces are painted red, so remove both of them. I cut the plug off of the power cord and installed my own 20 amp plug for 220 volts. The Shop Fox shaper is a beauty and all parts are well manufactured and everything fits well. I tapped and drilled four holes on the back left side of the table and installed a 1 hp power feeder, It runs smooth and I like that it comes with 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ spindles. I also purchased a spindle adapter that allows me to use my regular router bits. It holds both 1/2″ and 1/4″ router bits. I would highly recommend the Shop Fox 3 HP Shaper and also recommend purchasing it from Home Depot. The ordering process was extremely easy with no hidden costs. Happy sharpening.

I researched shapers well before I ordered this one. It is everything I expected. Great machine.
