Bought it for the range of speed. Wish the spindle throw was slightly longer for working with a 4″ x 4″. Fit and finish are good, except for the rod on which the table travels up and down on the pedestal. It bends and flexes easily.

Figuring out how to take tension off the belts to change speed was a challenge. I have to loosen the motor mounts to do it. Thankfully it is easy to do and making changes to the speed is infrequent for me. The vertical sanding feature is cool and a big reason I bought it.

Awesome drill press. Plenty of power, easy to assemble and really like the oscillating feature. If you want to assure it’s delivered undamaged, select ship to store, not ship to home. This ships in one large heavy box. Mine was shipped to the store laying horizontal, strapped to a half-pallet and arrived in perfect condition. If shipped to home, it will likely be taken off the pallet and thrown into a smaller residential delivery truck for the delivery person to man-handle to your front door and will more likely get dented and damaged.

Overall good quality

Good overall drill press. Like the flexibility the table has in adjustments. The sanding attachment is a quick adjustment. I prefer a variable speed adjustment rather than slipping belts but that only comes with a higher price drill press. I am still getting use to the power switch on the left side. I prefer them on the front so you can use either hand to turn on/ off the machine. Good quality machine for the money.

Order was shipped within a week of ordering. Very well packaged. No damage to any parts. Very easy to assemble. All parts accounted for. Drillpress runs great. No issues. But it would be nice to see Shop Fox add a chuck key holder in the future.
