Convert a Mini DisplayPort video source on your Mac Pro (2013), MacBook Air, MacBook, or Surface Pro into either an HDMI or DisplayPort output using the black Mini DisplayPort Video Dock with USB 3.0 LAN Hub from SIIG. These outputs will then be compatible with DisplayPort 1.1a outputs at resolutions up to 4K x 2K @ 30 Hz, or HDMI 1.3a displays at resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz. Aside from the video ports, this hub is also equipped with two USB 3.0 ports and one Gigabit Ethernet port. The USB 3.0 ports allow devices such as external storage, optical drives, memory card readers, and printers to be connected to this hub at speeds up to 5 Gb/s, while the Gigabit Ethernet port allows wired network connectivity. The Mini DisplayPort Video Dock is plug-and-play compatible and operates using USB bus power, meaning that is requires no external power adapters, helping to make it more portable for on-the-go use.
The Mini DisplayPort Video Dock with USB 3.0 LAN Hub is compatible with Thunderbolt and backwards compatible with USB 2.0, as well as 10/100 Fast Ethernet. It will operate with systems running Windows and Mac and includes four rubber pads.

It is nice to have a hub that does ethernet and HDMI vs having separate adapters. It would be nice if it also had a headphone jack so everything could be plugged into the hub. I use this with a Mac.

Connected the USB input to Computer…. Connected the HDMI output to a Samsung monitor…. Didn’t work…. I would return the device but it would cost more than it is worth….
