I’ve had this serger model for over a year and find it a great value, especially at this discounted price. It has the same features of the 14CG754 and I like the blue accents.

I’ve been using this a few months. So far it is very easy to use and thread. Sews like a dream.

I should immediately note that this is my first serger purchase, and the first time I’ve even used this type of machine. The machine arrived well packaged and threaded, but the drive belt had come off in transit. I attempted to use the machine but of course, it wouldn’t work – it just whirred like something was disengaged. The troubleshooting section of the manual does not address this seemingly common (and easily fixed) issue. Thankfully someone diagnosed it over Twitter. This should be included in the manual. Another small issue with the manual concerned the thread labels. When rethreading the machine, the manual refers to blue, green, orange, and yellow dials, but the markings on the machine are actually blue, green, red, and orange. Just a small thing but can be confusing if you’re not paying attention. Having said that, I was able to perform basic troubleshooting – including properly adjusting tension and rethreading the machine – with the manual. As someone who has never used sergers before, I used Post-it notes to label the tension dials (upper loop, lower loop, etc) and found it helped greatly. Overall, my experience with this machine has been positive and I’m pleased with my purchase.

I had to replace my serger after 6 years and I always loved my singer serger

Plastic gears make this machine very noisy. Must be used with knife to avoid dropping stitches.

I have been sewing for 50 years and threading this machine was a nightmare. There are tiny thread guides that “pop” off when you put any tension on the thread. Right now I’m missing one, and I’m still in the practice phase of this machine-Bought 3 weeks ago and have to order EXTRA! They could provide a few since they fly away!

I have an older Singer serger and chose Singer once again for my new machine. I love it! It does everything I need for my sewing needs. It’s easy to use and easy to follow the directions for changing tensions, threads, etc. and you get a great machine for the price.

Never serged before I bought this. Practiced 2 hours a day for 3 days. On Day 1–I was scared and confused–thought I’d have to send back. Day 2–it started to make very little sense. On Day 3 during my first hour the lightbulb in my head came on and now I’m a serging fool!!! DVD is great-I played/paused it over several times and followed along. Instuction manual is good but DVD helps it all make sense. Tension settings are in manual for stitches from light to heavy fabrics so are easy to set. Shirring foot is my fav! This was a terrific value through HSN with 6 extra presser feet and free S & H. Now the creative & enjoyable sewing possiblities for me are endless!!! I LOVE this serger!!!

I have been sewing for years but when I unpacked this little gem I was very intimidated. It looked so complicated. But it came threaded so I grabbed some scrap material and started serging WOW what a great machine. I have changed threads now several times..it is so quick and easy.. I love it!!!

DVD said very little about actually using, mostly set up. Broke a piece when first used because DVD did little to demonstrate how to move the blade. Found the user manual VERY helpful because it has very detailed pictures as well as step by step how to thread, settings, how to feed cloth through foot, down to how to remove from under foot. COULD NOT HAVE FIGURED OUT WITHOUT THE USER MANUAL. After using manual have not had a problem although every half hour or so a thread will come undone and you will have to rethread it and continue!

I purchased this machine a year ago and have been delighted with it. I found the included DVD very helpful and refer back to it often when trying out new techniques. I was unsure what to expect as was well aware that these machines in general can be difficult to thread, but I can say that after taking the time to watch the video and reading the manual, it’s really quite simple. Some areas are tight, but the included tweezers make it much easier. The adjustment dials are well labeled and easy to operate. I’ve made a point of crating a sample book, using the manual and vid to create samples of different stitches, and settings on a variet of sample fabrics. I feell I’m getting great value for my money with this little machine and it gets used a lot! I love my Singer Serger!

I have been using the serger and really like it. I’ve used the tie-on method to thread the bottom threads and have no problem threading the upper threads. I find the movement and of the quickness fascinating. So far, so good!
