After years without sewing i had to practically learn how to sew again. This machine was so different it actually was hard to get going. My old model was a Singer about 1965 and for me was a snap. I had a hard time getting everything to work and if it had not been for the video that came with it i would probably have taken it back. Once I got it going it was OK. The threading of the needle was hard to get right but a good idea since I’m much older with not as sharp sight as years ago.

I use it to make baby quilts and cloth dolls. Sews really well. The only flaw .. it’s not self threading. I would buy again.

My 8 year old daughter seemed to pick up how to use this sewing machine very easily. She absolutely loves it and uses it a lot.

I haven’t sewed for a very long time and wanted to sew, maybe start with little things and move up. I got the Singer basic machine because they have been in business for years. I could not have chosen a better sewing machine. The bobbin thread is so easy to load. The machine itself is easy to load. It comes with a detailed instruction book and diagrams. Everything about it is more than I expected. I Love IT! I am going to move up to a bigger machine and I can’t wait!!

a good basic machine for straight sewing which was what I needed – the first time threading the needle was an adventure – thank goodness there was a dvd because the picture on the instruction wasn’t very good however a second viewing of the dvd did the job

As stated above, I use this machine only for paper crafting…I have a more sophisticated machine for sewing purposes.

I bought this machine to sew face masks and it has performed admirably. I am 60 masks in and counting and have not had ANY trouble with the machine. It sews right through multiple layers of fabric with barely any coaxing. The tension stays even. It is far better than I expected. I couldn’t be happier. And that cheerful yellow? Perfect!

I have used the machine twice and have not had a problem yet. I am satisfied with the price; good price for what it does. I would recommend this machine.

This is my first very own sewing machine and the directions were easy to follow and the machine even easier to use. I only had an issue figuring out how to set up the bobbin but i got it within minutes thanks to the Singer Youtube.com tutorials. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Great mending and alterations machine, basic stitches, and unlike most computerised machines, the motor in this is quite powerful! I was powering through denim canvas and even neoprene wetsuit fabric on my first day of on-set tailoring for an advertising job…. Buttonholes on this machine are pretty rubbish, and so are the accessories, get yourself some good quality needles, bobbins and thread and your good to go!! If you dont need all the bells and whistles of a fancy machine, save your money and buy a good serger too!!

So far, I have only been making masks on my new machine, but it has been very easy to get used to.

I purchased this machine for my 9 year old granddaughter. When she showed interest in sewing I sent her to the classes Joanns offers and told her if she liked it I would get her a sewing machine. She loved it. I wanted to get something that was not to expensive but a good product. After an hour or so of reviewing the instructions together, which were very easy to follow, she started her first project. This machine was very easy for her to use with no problems. This machine is great. I told her that I might have to get one for myself. I LOVED IT. I am glad my choice was the 3223 Simple. A plus…the pink matches her room.

I bought this Singer sewing machine three weeks ago, and since then I have sewn a button-front shirt, altered a pair of khakis and a pair of jeans (including sewing through a thick double-folded hem), and sewn three T-shirts. This Singer performed flawlessly on all these projects, and is so easy to use. I much prefer it to computerized sewing machines, with all their beeping and losing all your stitch settings if you have to turn off the machine for awhile. I like that this Singer Simple 3223 uses a standard Class 15 bobbin, which is very easy to find in stores. I think it’s easy to thread–I don’t need an automatic needle threader. I like the wide variety of 23 stitches on the machine and the automatic buttonholer. I like that it came with with a zipper foot, buttonhole foot, and button sewing foot. I do wish that it had come with an extra spool pin for twin needle sewing, but I made one from a wooden dowel, so that’s okay. The machine was a very good value, and does everything I need in a sewing machine which is mostly sewing clothes.
