the only reason I gave this machine 4 stars instead of 5 is because the instructions for the buttonhole were a little hard to understand. Because I do have sewing experience with other machines, I could figure it out. But it would be hard for someone with no knowledge of machines. Other than that, I love this machine. Simple yet gets the job done. Even thick fabric or complex jobs. It can do numerous stitches that are very easy to dial in. I have had no problems.

Very nice little machine! I decided to buy a machine to make cotton masks, but I could not find a machine online or in a store anywhere. I went to the Singer website and found this little model. I ordered it, and within about 5 days, the machine arrived. It took some practice, but I feel very comfortable sewing on this little jewel. It has many features that I think are amazing to find on an entry level machine like all the stitch patterns and needle threader.

I have had this machine for about 2 months now. I ordered online and right out of the box it didn’t work. It turned on ( motor could be heard) but nothing moved (needle nor bobbin winder). I took it to a Singer certified repair shop to take advantage of my warranty. I was told the belt inside had not been placed on the pulley so nothing could turn. My machine was fixed at no cost to me and has worked perfectly fine since the repair. I’ve made lots of pencil pouches, reusable grocery bags and even tailored some clothes. Aside from my misfortune of the product not working right out of the box, I would recommend this machine. I am a beginner when it comes to sewing and have felt confident using this machine. It is very easy to use. It’s simple and has all the basics, as far as I know. I’ve watched tons of Youtube sewing tutorials and although there are many fancy sewing machines out there, my recommendation for a beginner would be to start out with a simple all around good quality machine like this one. I am very satisfied with my machine.

Bought this to make masks and simple things for my kids. I have found it a bit difficult to use. The thread jams a lot and the self threader takes longer than just putting in the needle. It also struggles sewing over pins/thicker fabric and elastic. I’ve used it three times at this time and I’ve had to unjam the thread from the bottom at least half of my time sewing.

Learned how to sew as a kid but this is my first machine of my own. Purchased to make masks because I was sick of hand sewing. This machine has just the right amount of bells and whistles like the automatic needle threader and different settings but not so much that it’s too complicated or confusing for newbies. I’m also teaching my s/o to sew with this bad boy and he picked it up immediately. Shipping was relatively fast even during the pandemic. Setup took under 10 mins including reading through manuals. Anything you can’t figure out yourself, Singer has convenient YouTube videos for everything. So far this machine is exceeding my expectations!

This machine is very finicky, but it works. I know how to thread a sewing machine, but this little guy requires constant re-threading due to the thread falling off of the lever. Not sure how it happens, but making sure the needle is completely up prevents this issue, it seems. I had constant tangles in my work due to this tiny issue, but threading it properly prevents it, so I’m not complaining. Aside from that, I haven’t run into any other problems. This machine is quite the beast, and I really like it, especially for its price. I would recommend it to someone who is more of an experienced sewer who wants something cheap, rather than a beginner. I think a beginner would have too many problems with how finicky this machine is.
