I bought this machine for making masks. My old machine didn’t work well any multiple layers, so I wanted and needed a heavy duty machine that could handle multiple layers and not jam up, skip stitches or mess up the tension. This machine has not let me down. The only problem I had is if the bobbin wasn’t right I would have tension problems. I redid the bobbin and it worked great afterwards.

Best value for the buck!!!! I haven’t used my old Singer for 14 years since my Rottweiler had a fight with it and won. While searching for replacement cushions for 6 patio chairs and seeing how expensive they were I decided to get back to the “machine”. I searched for what I felt would suit my needs the best and settled on the Singer Heavy Duty 4423…. great choice, it’s a workhorse!!! I have since made 10 cushions both seat and back for less than half the cost of the stores!!!! And to boot I can thread the needle in 15 seconds with the built in threader!!!!
