I bought the machine 2 weeks ago because I have been making the masks for friends and family, and my Viking would not sew through the many layers you have with flannel in the middle. This machine took right off. I have been having a great time with it sewing projects I had put off for a long time.

I typically use a sewing machine for basic purposes like hemming pants legs, and small projects that do not require great expertise. This heavy duty, yet simple to use machine fills my needs. I like the needle threading feature because eyesight and unsteady hands would likely prevent me from using this machine without it. Overall I am well pleased with my 4423 heavy duty Singer sewing machine.

It is very quiet, and it is not computerized. Purchased last Singer in 1975.Wanted something similar without lots “bells and whistles”, and this is it.Love it

We ordered this machine for my daughter as a gift on her 11th birthday. It was our first choice, and arrived mid-April, right on time without the delay and confusion that we were prepared for mid-pandemic. She has wanted a sewing machine for years, and the fact that we were able to get this exact model to her in time for her birthday was huge. She is a novice seamstress, but has improved easily on this well built, user friendly machine. Because it is so well made, she will be using it for years to come. I picked it out partly because it resembles the Singer my mom has sewed on since the 1960s. Many thanks Singer–you are a wonderful company!

Had a sewing machine my whole life after receiving one for high school graduation. When I retired from my postal job after nearly 34 years I moved and decided not to take my sewing machine to my new small apartment and gave it to a co_workers daughter. When covid_19 caused a need for face masks I bought a new machine and have been sewing cotton masks. I’m enjoying sewing again_feels like the good old days.

Absolutely love my new singer seeing machine. I almost broke my Baby lock trying to sew canvas. Then I researched and found out I needed a heavy duty machine. This one is great! Watching online tutorials of bobbin winding and threading the machine are the best. The user manual is not very helpful. I followed the two online videos and it sews so beautifully I almost cried. Came faster than I expected with the whole Corona virus thing. Goes through multiple layers of canvas and bias tape like butter. I was able to sew an entire canvas hanging bag for my laundry in a couple of hours. Love love love the fast stitching speed. It was worth every penny and the best price on the web.

Very sturdy sewing machine, for light and heavy duty sewing. Very easy to thread and make a bobbin. I bought it to replace my very long lasting beautiful Singer sewing machine which was manufactured in the 1960’s, and that finally unfortunately lost its gears. I miss the knee control for the motor (using a foot pedal takes practice,) the reverse that could be on/off without holding the switch, and the step-by-step up/down control of the feed dog. But this machine can handle materials and variable thickness much better than my old machine, and has indeed 23 kinds of zigzags and blind hem stitches that I can use often.

I needed to replace my very old Singer and chose this model because I was interested in a straight forward machine that wasn’t computerized. I am an experienced sewer but usually only create basic projects. This machine exceeded my expectations. First, it’s SO light weight compared to my old machine. It’s also very quiet compared to my old machine. It has all the features I’m looking for and is super easy and simple to use. My first project was making masks. This machine whipped through the heavy, multiple layers of fabric. What a delight to use. Next project is a t-shirt quilt for my daughter to take to college…as soon as supplies become more plentiful

This machine is exactly what I hoped it would be, dependable, powerful, accurate, fun and easy to use. Of course mask making is what I’m working on right now, I also make costumes, cloaks, girls clothing, leather items, and household items.

Works great, no problems

I’m extremely rough on sewing machines but this one went through four layers of pleather, two layers of velvet upholstery and two layers of satin all at the same time over and over again.

I’ve been sewing for 40 years, had a great sewing machine but lost it in a house fire. So I bought this one, since I need a heavy duty machine. It works great on thicker fabric, runs smooth. The problem is the top thread is constantly coming unthreaded! I have to keep retreading the needle, very frustrating. You must make sure there is a good length of thread beyond the needle after you remove your project from the presser foot. Otherwise, it unthreads. There is no needle down control, you must use the hand wheel. I’m used to the needle down control, so this will take time getting used to.

This machine is so easy to use even for beginners like me. I love how it has the power I need for some projects but also can be gentle for others. I highly recommend this machine.

When I called Singer to tell them that the bulb blew on the very first day…All I heard was a recording AND, NO ONE at Singer called me…. The machine feed bulb area is still dark…AND, Singer is doing NOTHING to help me replace it….
