Made masks for my family. Made chair-covers, table cloths napkins, this machine is mine, sorry grandkids, not going to give this one away lol. Thank You Singer you never let me down in 45 years.

I was learning to sew on my mother’s 70 year-old Singer (which still runs beautifully in its original cabinet). I had trouble understanding the attachments so was limited to straight stitch. That’s why I decided to see what a modern machine could do and order the 4423. I love everything about it – the automatic threader, see-through bobbin case, variety of stitches by turning the dial, etc. Very easy for a beginner to learn sewing.

I’m a first time sewer and thought it was going to be very challenging, but this machine is so easy to use! It’s had no problem doing the denim and sequin projects I’ve been working on. It has a ton of power, I’ve only used it at about half power and that is PLENTY.

I don’t know how to sew, but this machine made it very easy. I’ve made kitchen towels, dinner napkins and repaired the kids pants. Looking forward to what I will make next.

When I first tried to use new machine, it would not pick up the bobbin thread at all. I could tell that the timing was off on this machine. I called the customer service many times with no answer. I tried their chat help line which only tried to charge me for an answer. Absolutely ridiculous!! I finally u tubed how to fix the timing and fixed it myself. The point is that you should never have to worry about having to fix a brand new machine. I am fairly pleases with how this machine works now No Thanks To Singer!

I used my Kenmore basic machine for 32 years before it gave up. I researched a replacement for weeks; comparing accessories, speed, weight, application/usage & pricing. I settled on this one because; I am experienced but generally do ‘basic’ repairs & make a lot of ‘craft’ type projects (bags, heat pads etc). I needed & wanted a heave machine that could handle the thicker fabrics. I also generally use straight or zig zag stitches, but do have occasion where a little different stitch is preferred, the 23 this one has is plenty! Also at 60… for the first time I am finding the self threading a real bonus! This unit came with plenty of accessories & will use (buttonholer, zipper etc). After I decided on this model I found out 4 other family/friends have the same one & love it too. Only negative I have is I immediately wanted to replace the LED light with a brighter one…. It was NOT replaceable. I think the LED module is entirely too dim!

it’s fine for basic sewing but not for decorative stitching

I really love this machine for being a beginner. Most of the features are easy to use. I did find the automatic threader to be quite difficult to use, but I am sure with time I will get better at it. The machine is heavy and is a great size to store away. I love that you can find video step by step information on the SINGER website to help with using the machine.

I have 3 other machines all very expensive. This one is simple and for straight up sewing this is the best. Just open the box, plug it in and sew!! It is well made and heavy duty. Snap on presser feet that are inexpensive work great. Very happy with it is machine!!

I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but my Singer that had just died on me had served me very well for 45 years, so I was willing to step out and get this one that fit in my budget. It came just at the right time. I’ve made over 100 fabric masks during this Coronavirus pandemic. It’s working fantastic. I’ve only used it for about two weeks now, but I’m feeling very optimistic about keeping it around for the rest of my life.

This is a fabulous machine with a strong but quiet motor. The variety of stitches, and adjustments of them, is all I need for my hobby sewing.

I bought this after my Brother stopped working and I needed it for making masks. It is hard core. It goes through several layers of fabric easily and easy to use.

I just wanted a basic machine. I do a little quilting, made over 100 face masks, baby quilts, towel bibs etc. When I try to go fast, the threading on top comes undone on the machine. If I just take it easy, it is fine. I like the see through bobbin and the needle threader. I always buy the cheaper, heavy duty Singers and they last me forever so that was one of the reasons I bought this one. If it would stay threaded, I would have no complaints at all.
