I bought this machine for my very artistic teen daughter who is learning to sew and likes to make her own clothing. She is having a wonderful time. She loves the top drop in bobbin, the speed control, the variety of stitches, the thread cutter and how quiet the machine runs. It’s going to be a great tool for her. I have an older fancy computerized sewing/ embroidery machine that I didn’t really want her playing around with, but I think I might even like hers more. She’s a good kid, she told me I could borrow it 😉

The package came early which was great. Buuuuttt… the packaging was horrible!! The singer box was inside a larger box that only had a few air packs and the singer box easily tossed around inside. The outside box was also damaged on the corners. Luckily, the machine inside was not damaged. Everything on the machine works except the auto threader. My old Singer had it as well and it was super handy but I cannot get this one to work unfortunately! I love all the features this machine has and there are a lot of them! I use it daily and it runs soooo smooth!! I wouldn’t recommend for a beginner but great for an intermediate and probably advanced too.

I received my SINGER Quantum Stylist 9960 two weeks ago and have already use it to make several face masks. Overall, I am very happy with it. Here are what I see as the Pros and Cons:PROS:- The manual is great and is easy to follow. I was sewing in less than half an hour. (I am someone who always reads the manual!)- The machine has numbers embossed on it to make learning to thread the bobbin and thread the machine so easy. That was a great touch!- It came with a huge assortment of accessories including tons of special presser feet, an extension table and a cover.-Watching the video tutorials and reading the manual really helped me learn how to use all of the features of the machine. I encourage you to watch the tutorials. They are well-done and really helpful.- The LCD screen and front buttons are well designed and make sewing very intuitive.- I LOVE that the machine threads the needle for me! That is really helpful as my eyes age!- I haven’t used many of the special stitches yet, but am excited to have so many to choose from.CONS:-Since this was advertised as a “heavy duty” machine, I thought the machine casing would be metal. It is plastic, which worries me.- Even the foot pedal is plastic and seems fragile. My last machine, which I had for 30 years, had a metal casing, metal control buttons, and a metal foot pedal. For a “heavy duty” machine, there is a lot of plastic. I wish SINGER had used much more metal, rather than hard, brittle-feeling, plastic.Overall, it seems like a great sewing machine. It is my first electronic machine and I am really enjoying it. I would have given five stars if it didn’t have so much plastic.
