The 51° bevel, with positive stop at 45°, gives a variety of cut options, while blades changes are easier with spindle lock and on-tool wrench. The 5280 includes a 24 tooth blade and a carrying bag.

Nice saw. I’m not a professional carpenter (I’m retired), but most of the guys in my family (and ancestors) are, and since I don’t have the room, or desire, to buy a table saw, I use circular saws a lot on my sometimes very extensive remodeling projects around our 160-year old home. This new one is somewhat less clunky, and a lower profile, than my 7-year old Skil whose motor I burned up ripping way too many 2x4s into 2x2s. My old saw’s motor was making grinding noises already, so the smoke and flames spewing out of the motor was not really a surprise. The laser sighting on this new saw is great, and it extends well down the line I’m following. I did replace the blade that comes with the new saw with a carbide 40-tooth blade, and it cuts pretty clean. The saw is great for non-professional use. I’ve read a review, or two, about the cut depth-lock lever breaking off, so I set that plastic lock lever very carefully. The only issue I have with it, and all brand new tools, is the curl in the power cords never seems to go away, and are always getting snagged on the saw horses. It’s a minor thing, but can be a point of irritation when ripping precut studs.

I bought this saw 7 months ago and used it to remodel our kitchen and build a game room in upper level of my garage. I had no problem cutting rough lumber or finished lumber. I would buy again if the saw ever gives up.

Bought for use for home remodeling job. Cuts clean and tru, nice to have a saw with a bottom plate that allows 90 deg perpendicular cuts. I typically use a saw guide w/ clamps, there was good clearance between the saw housing the guide. Product came with all purpose blade, however as with all power saws, I picked up extra blade for finer cuts. For the price and for the projects I have and will use it on I’m very satisfied.

The new design takes left handed crafts persons into consideration. The laser feature is great and the notches in the front of the shoe keeps the saw on the line for us that had problems with that in the past. The shaft lock make it very easy to remove and replace the blade.
