The Skil Sheet Palm Sander is the perfect tool for faster stock removal and smooth results when you’re putting the finishing touch on your project. The pressure control indicator lets you know when the right amount of pressure is applied and warns you when there’s too much. The pad brake eliminates gouging. Micro-filtration captures and contains fine dust particles to keep your work surface cleaner. A sealed switch keeps dust out of the tool for a long life. The dust canister is clear, removing the guess work of figuring out when to empty it.

I do not think that there is much to mess up with a palm sander. The grip on top is a great size for a worker with larger hands. The pressure gauge on the side is also a great idea (just the correct pressure and to avoid burning out the motor). The exhaust fits conviently to a shop vac.

I also bought this sander to replace another brand. I agree that the mounting clips for the 1/4 sheet are a little awkward to use; almost need 3 hands, BUT the quality of the finish makes up for this irritation.

The clips for loading and unloading paper are poorly designed. They are difficult to get a grip on and stick badly. Leading to very early failure. Both mine FELL off (wire broken) in the middle of a sanding job. The only cause I can see is fatigue from having to be forced open and closed.

I was thrilled to get this as a present as I started refreshing my craft room– paint, shelves. The dust collector and sandpaper clips are great concepts, but poor performers.As a previous reviewer stated, there’s no way to thoroughly clean the collection cup and there is no hose connection adapter built into the sander so you still have the dust issue unless you duct tape on a hose. Ok, I can do that.HOWEVER, after changing the first 1/4 sheet, the clips started to fail and the sandpaper stared to shift then shred where it was supposed to be attached. (I did not apply extreme pressure.) I gave up and went back to hand sanding off the previous paint drips. Onto sanding the shelf feet. By the third sheet change, the bottom clip failed completely. There are no instructions on how to adjust or fix the issue. Since it’s been several months between the first use and the second, it’s no longer covered.

Performs very good!!! I don’t recommend using self adhesive sand paper as it rips the pad, I use 1/4 sheet and clamp it in place.

Easy to install the sand paper. You save money buying the large sheets and cutting into four. The sawdust suction feature reduces the amount release into in the air. Overall a good value for the money.

Nice light touch; the pressure control feature is great. Seems like the filter should catch more but wasn’t breathing in much dust. Would also like the sheet holders to be a little more substantial to better hold onto generic sheets that are a bit shorter than Skil sheets. But overall, I like it.

However, within 2 days of using it rubber pad had worn down at the corners and no store has replacements. I had to hold off on our project for a while, and started back up last week. The pad has since completely fell apart.
