The product is great, but Home Depot chose to ship it in only the shelf packaging. On arrival one end of the box was completely missing and the only thing holding the product in was a cardboard end cap. Fortunately the product SEEMS to have suffered no damage. We’ll see. This is a replacement saw, replacing the exact same product – it’s very powerful and a real workhorse. Bosch now owns Skil and they make very good products. Bosch is a Siemens company.

I got it mostly to cut up smaller pieces of firewood. Works like a champ on various wood hardness. The variable speed control helps getting it started on odd wood shapes. You just got to be a little careful. I have not doubt it will work out ok on regular wood and metal cutting.
