Good at what it does. I used this grinder to clean up and prepare a new shovel and my manual edger. It took about 10% of the time that I have spent with a coarse file doing the same job. The included battery was still going strong after these two small jobs. It has a good feel in the hand and is a breeze to install and replace the grinding wheel. This is due to the convenient spindle lock and the wheel lock nut tool being stowed into the side handle. No more trying to find the tool at work time. Remember that it is a GRINDER. The instructions specifically state that it should NOT be used for sanding, wire wheel cleaning, polishing, or cut off wheels. But if you need a grinder only, it does a fine job. The handle can be used in three different positions and the wheel guard is easily repositioned to suit your job. The battery charger made quick work of fully charging the battery. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the on/off switch feels a little delicate to me. I felt like I was going to break it each time I turned it on. That’s just me.

Skil has done it again, a great new cordless 20-Volt angle grinder. Equipped for a 4-1/2′ grinding wheel, many other attachments can be purchased & used with it for masonry, metal cutting/grinding and woodworking. Has a three-way handle with disk changing tool built in, adjustable wheel guard and locking power switch. Ergonomically balanced for comfort grip and control. Has a long run time between charges. Comes with a 20-Volt battery and charger. I just used mine to cut through some rock on my chimney for mounting a custom made mantle.

This is a quality angle grinder. It took me less than five minutes to fully set it up. charge took about an hour approximately. I played with all of its settings. It will quickly and easily grind off anything that gets in its way. The convenient handle allows you to put some good pressure while grinding. I also tried it for polishing my headlights on my car. I found a small polishing wheel at HD that fit it and it worked great. Just being cordless makes your life so much easier using this unit. NO cords to get tripped up on. I have not tried sanding nor sharpening with it yet but I am positive it will perform! Plenty of power and no cord to get in the way. This has all the features of an AC unit plus the convenience of a quick change battery. The shield can be rotated easily thanks to the easy locking lever, The spindle can be locked while changing discs using special wrench whic is conveniently stored in the handle. The handle can be used in any of three locationsThe on off switch is secure yet easily shut off and the tool balance is comfortable. It even can stand up on end for storage.

I got this grinder to help sharpen my commercial lawn mower blades. As a commercial Lawn Care provider, sharp blades are essential. I sharpen blades daily, and it can take a bit of time sometimes. With this grinder, I can now lift the mower and sharpen the blades quickly without having to remove them. Took me 5 minutes total to lift, sharpen, and drop my 60 inch commercial unit. Battery charges quickly, and lasted enough to sharpen a total of 12 blades with power still left. It is saving me hours of work per week.

A very comfortable grinder to hang onto. The grinder is lightweight which makes it easy to maneuver around. The handle is threaded to go in the right left or top position. That gives a lot of options on grip. I typically do not use a handle but you need to keep it around as the wrench fits into it. I would have liked it fitted somewhere on the grinder itself but this is no way a deal breaker. After figuring out how to turn it on, as I am not used to the switching, I found the power and battery life perfect for what I need. This SKIL definitely beats the old corded grinder in the drawer. In addition, I liked very much that there was a grinding wheel supplied with the tool.

I received my Skil PWRCORE 20-Volt cordless 4-1/2- inch angle grinder today; This angle grinder is loaded with features. I like The Spindle lock, and the three-position side handle. It comes with a dual-function switch that can be locked to the on position. I especially like the tool-free blade guard, which is very handy, and I love the on board wrench storage. The 20-volt 2.0 Ah battery has plenty of power, charges fast, and comes with a LED battery gauge.Overall, this is a reasonably priced angle grinder that is powerful and comes with a lot of optional features and a five year warranty.

Most of my work is light duty. I do get some heavy clean up work that I like to use lighter weight grinders. This Skil Powercore 20 volt hits the middle spot between corded monster to grinder in name only. It is comfortable to hold in your hand and the battery balances the weight so it’s easy to move and get into tighter spot. The trigger can lock in the on position. A nice feature is the tool to change wheels brushes and pads is located in the handle. The handle has three positions that can be changed depending on the project. A very nice positive was the speed that the battery charges. It is a very quick charge time. The tool is brush-less as this trend is really taken hold.
