A soft start grinder keeps it from trying to jump out of your hands on initial startup! No more gripping it supper tightly lest it twist out of your hands on startup. Makes it easier to control over the course of a day. It also stops very quickly with its braking action so you do not inadvertently cut something else like a power cord, new material, etc. The battery charges very quickly and can be recharge in about the time it takes for a coffee break on a busy day. The Battery also has a super nice adapter which you can use to charge the phone and a tablet at the same time on the job so you can be fully prepared to run the jobs you’re on.Well, Well, worth the money and a nice improvement over older models and other brands.

This is a nice and powerful battery powered angle grinder. The battery provided as much power as I would expect from a corded one. It comes with a grinding disc and the needed wrench fits nicely into the adjustable handle. the charger is a little loud but charges fast. The grinder has a very ergonomic feel and the weight is very comfortable to hold.

A wise old man once told me that if I ever had to choose between a corded or a cordless tool to always pick the cordless. I like to use an angle grinder often and I usually use it with a cutting blade. This seems like a nice one. It comes with a grinding disc. There is onboard storage for the pin wrench used to change discs. It comes with a nice adapter that mounts on the large 5 amphour battery and has 2 USB ports. It has a fine screen on the vent to keep out small particles from grinding. When the wheel stops spinning, it doesn’t coast to a stop it seems to have a centrifugal brake and stops in a second or two. Nice safety feature. One time I was cleaning a trench that a trenching machine had cut. My trenching shovel was a little too wide so I cut about a quarter-inch off each edge with an angle grinder. Took about one minute. I look forward to being very productive with this tool.

Not quite professional grade but a huge “bang for the buck” for the DIY’er. The Skil 20 volt brushless 4 ½” angle grinder AG2907-1A did everything I asked of it and kept coming back for more. This unit is part of Skil PWRCore 20-line which markets tools that require less power to operate at the same performance level of more expensive units. The battery is at the heart of the system which can “quick” charge in just 5 minutes and is able to last longer in operation than the competitions. The quick charge allows you to get that last cut or edge without having to always carry around another battery. We have all been there. The Skil 20V spins up to 8500 RPM and I cut through some rebar and steel pipe with no issue (I used a diamond cutting wheel). With the grinding wheel installed I was able to deburr, no issue. I was able to bog the unit down but no more than with my corded grinder. I would put this grinder up against any corded grinder below 10 amps., absolutely against any corded 7-amp models. The housing is a-little on the thicker side and it is about 3 inches longer than my corded grinder. Weight is approx. 6 lbs. with the battery, heavier than my corded but not overly. The “lock-On” power switch is somewhat stiff with the traditional safety bump that you must overcome. The unit will stay on until the switch is physically move back to the off position. If the battery is installed with the switch in the on position the unit will not start up, you must cycle the switch to the off position and back to the on for it to start up. Wheel changes use the std. type wheel lock button and spanner wrench. The wrench stores right inside the handle. There are three handle positions to choose from, left right and center. The guard has a tool free rotation adjustment. Simply flip the lever, rotate and flip it back into locked position. There are removable air intake screens just above the battery, easy to remove and clean if they get clogged. This is not a braking grinder, but it only takes approx. 5 seconds for the wheel to stop. The 20v Lithium-ion battery has charge level indicator light and mounts firmly into the unit. USB adaptor module can snap onto the battery allowing you to get a quick charge for phone or tablet. The recharging station is nicely done with clear charging indicators. Great angle grinder for the DIY’er, not quite professional level but will handle 99% of what the homeowner will come across at ½ the price tag. Recommended.

One very handy tool away from the house. Not only convenient inside my DIY garage, but when working on fences at my house or a neighbors house, from recent storm and limbs falling across chain link fences. Packing of the tool was excellent and the blade, handle, and battery attach easily and quickly. Brilliant idea – Skil hides the blade removal tool in the extension handle! The 20V battery has power to spare and the handle can be attached from the left, right, and top positions, for any demanding work area. The trigger lock is convenient and is easy to release. Another plus is the quick release and moving of the blade guard, depending on which angle you are grinding or cutting. Additional protection is provided on the battery by having the ‘breather’ holes covered by a fine wire mesh, allowing the battery to get fresh air for cooling. And with the USB adapter, you can charge up your mobile phone on site. One extremely useful cordless tool. Most importantly, always use appropriate eye protection when working with a grinder. For me, I use a full face shield.

This is a complete kit. The disc wrench slides inside the screw-in handle. The battery is heavy but it is wonderfully powerful. The charger has a fan in it to keep it cool, and the base of the tool has vents for the battery- pretty nice. I used this to make a simple toilet bolt cut and it worked wonderfully. The balance in the tool with the battery in place is superb. All of the components have a heavy-duty feel to them. I will look into upgrading my other tools with Skil tools. This one in particular is well thought-out/designed and is a joy to use.

CORDLESS; POWERFUL; INNOVATIVE CHARGERS — The Skil PWRCore Brushless 20V Cordless 4-1/2″ Angle Grinder Kit with 5.0Ah Lithium-ion Battery, PWRAsst USB Adapter and Charger is a good value since the kit includes the tool, a 20-volt charger, a 20-volt battery, and a USB charger which fits onto a charged 20-volt battery. The battery charger has a bump charge feature which provides a 25% bump with 5 minutes of charging. That feature may allow you to complete a task. The angle grinder is comfortable to hold in conjunction with the handle (which may be placed in one of three places). The spindle wrench is stored in the handle; it is not the most elegant arrangement but still convenient. It is easy to change wheels. The repositioning of the guard was not possible for me with one hand. The lever was difficult to open and close. The on/lock/off switch is well positioned and easy to control. It is powerful so it may be best to practice on something before you gouge your work piece. The instructions did not note any possible accessories such as a cutoff wheel which could be useful. It has a five-year warranty if you register the tool on the Skil website and retain your receipt as proof of purchase.

Very good quality grinder, very easy to use, very powerful. I used it the first time to cut the end off a shovel that was bent over from chopping ice, it cut an inch off all across the bottom of shovel in 3 minutes. Very easy to control with extra handle attached. Grinds very well, cuts into rust real quick. Will get my old truck into shape real quick.
