Overall good build quality. Tool is awesome, battery is awesome, and charger is awesome. One thing on the tool is the bolt that pins the surface place has too much slop. Also no tool case even offered for buying to fit this in.

First impression when opening the box was that it doesn’t look like what I remember SKIL being. It looks like a more expensive tool.I charged the battery, which charged fairly quickly… Took it outside and cut some 2x3s for a garden fence. The saw cut pretty well, but when at the end of the board, it sort of kicked back and bogged down. I had to go back and cut through it again. It’s pretty light and fairly powerful for a battery circ saw. Overall, this saw seems like it’s well built. We’ll see about the longevity, but for now I’d say for the money, it’s a pretty good buy.

I like this little saw! I have an old 5 inch Ryobi cordless saw that isn’t very useful due to limited depth of cut and low power. This saw deals with both of those issues well. I tested it on an oak stair tread and it cut it easily. I also tested it ripping and cross cutting a 2×4 and it was fine and the battery was still at full charge. The blade may not be the best, it seems prone to chipping, but that could also be me. And blades are easily changed. It is light and powerful. Seems like it will be quite useful.

What a great, powerful little saw! Since building a new shed in the back yard I still had a lot of work to do. I needed to move all the lumber from my overcrowded garage to the shed now, which meant building a lot of shelves. And my extension cords weren’t heavy enough to reach 150 feet from the patio, so it was time to invest in a cordless saw. All of my previous work had been done with a corded 7 ½” circular saw, and this Skil 6 ½” saw not only provided the power and lasting ability I needed, but exceeded it! The 20V 4Ah battery was very impressive. And a great innovation is having the 5mm hex key hidden in the side of the handle, when it comes time to change blades. The charger works quickly getting the battery up to power again, and the little USB adapter is nothing short of amazing. Also, the 6 ½” cordless saw is extremely light, compared to my heavier corded saws. This little saw is going to get a LOT of use!

I’ve used this saw to cut some oak (just for fun), build a quick garage box and then literally just to cut up a 2×6 to burn…Here’s what I’ve found:- GREAT battery life. I was about 22 cuts into pine and 5 into 3/4″ solid oak before it even dropped one bar. – The blade (unlike a corded model) will choke and stop if you go off kilter or into too much for the saw. I had this happen by doing a crooked cut and by trying to cut into an absolutely saturated 6×6.- Easy to adjust, swap blades etc. – Sturdy construction. I’m not one to be nice to circular saws, and usually set them down in the “toss” manner. This one wasn’t even fazed. Were I think this tool is the most useful is for roofing where you could definitely hang it on your tool belt and trim edges. I will use it when I remake some shed doors in the next few weeks, and I’ll try to see how many cuts it can do then. Other than that, I really have enjoyed the performance here for the cordless benefit. The other thing I will say is that the PWRJump will be very handy for when you just lose the juice and can’t finish a current cut- 5 minutes and you’ll eat right through that cut. 45 minutes later and you’re back in business. Very happy with this tool.

A nice, sturdy, well-built saw with enough power to handle thick lumber… nothing flimsy on this tool. The 24 tooth carbide tip blade that came with the saw provides smooth cuts. A lever allows you to quickly adjust the depth of cut and the bevel adjustment is easy as well. A small screw even allows you to adjust the accuracy of the base to ensure a square cut time after time and to quickly return the base to the same precise spot after bevel cuts. A small attachment allows me to connect the saw to my shop vac to minimize sawdust indoors. The USB charging adapter that came with my saw makes it possible to use the battery pack to charge any tool or phone that has a USB connector. A nice option for emergencies or when you are on a site without power. Finally, I like that this saw is 1-4 pounds lighter than other traditional circular saws making it easy to handle and maneuver.

Skil PWRCore Brushless 20V Cordless 6-1/2 in. Circular saw Kit with 4.0Ah Lithium-ion Battery, PWRAsst USB Adapter & ChargerA very solid built saw. It weighs 5.7 pounds. I like the Allen Key/Wrench, for the blade stores on the saw so you have it whenever you want to switch blades. The blade has a push button lock that makes changing the blade very easy. The 20V battery provides plenty of power to cut thru 2x lumber and cuts 3/4 inch plywood very easily. It is very easy to adjust for your depth of cut and adjust easily for beveled cuts. The light that comes on when you touch the trigger. The electric brake stops the blade very quickly so you do not have to wait for the blade to stop between cuts. You can cut 1-11/16 in on 45 degree cuts and 2-13/32 in on 90 degree cuts. The battery takes about 45 minutes for a full charge. If you need to you can charge about 25% of the battery in about 15 min. The kit also includes a USB adapter you slip on the battery so you can charge your phone when not using the saw.I also like that this saw is a lot quieter than my electric saw.

Just got this saw a couple weeks ago, I have the ability to borrow a lot of tools but it’s nice to have certain things on hand like a good cordless saw. This saw has been a great addition, I haven’t had it long but it has done a great job. I used it a couple of times on some old solid wood doors that i’m cutting down and refinishing for a new space and it cut through them like butter. It’s easy to handle with or without a guide, cuts straight and had great power without getting bound up.

I used this Brushless 20V 6 1/2” Circular Saw to build a horse shelter where there was no power. This saw worked amazing. I used poplar wood that was approximately 8 inches wide by 1 inch thick. The SKIL saw had no problems cutting any of it. I was able to cut every cut for all the siding on 2 complete charges. Was totally shocked at how well it worked. It feels very durable and has a nice rubber grip. This saw is excellent for its long lasting battery and portability. There are a few cons to this Circular Saw. 1. I like using battery operated saws to cut rafter tails or in hard to reach places where chords can be a big hassle. With this saw, the handle is more on the top side of the saw and not the back. This makes it very hard to reach over your head to make cuts. It is much easier to make a cut being over top of the saw. 2. The trigger and the trigger safety button were tough to work together. The safety is a push button and was hard to hold in while cutting. If it were more like a lever, I would find it easier to use. 3. The lever for the blade guard seems to drop pretty low blocking the view to make a cut. I would recommend this saw for homeowners that are not needing to make overhead cuts. I gave the overall rating a 4/5 due to the handle position.

Build a shelf in my shed today. Used this tool for the first time. Battery charged amazingly fast, and held its charge for the rest of the project. Made many cuts through 2 by 6 and sheets of 5/8 OSB as I was building my shelf. Very lightweight, appreciated that the blade didn’t continue to spend long after I let go of the trigger. Also had a nice LED light to help you see your lines.

The skil cordless reciprocating saw really packs a punch in a small handheld tool with a quick charging battery. Feels good in your grip, cuts smooth, relatively quiet compared to a corded saw. The base is compact which is nice although I don’t think it will fit my straight edge because it is smaller. I wish it came with a bag. The battery come with a cover that you dont use when charging.

I’ve used this cordless saw to make some repairs to my wooden deck. It’s the first of any type of cordless saw that I’ve owned, so I don’t have prior experience to draw on in my assessment of it. That said, I like what I’ve been able to do with it while cutting pressure-treated two-bys and 5/4 decking. I used the saw off-and-on all day on a single battery charge. §The brushless motor runs smooth and quiet. The saw is well balanced and easy to handle. Its light weight is definitely a plus. Bevel angle and depth of cut adjustments are very similar to other circular saws. The bevel-stop adjusting screw – for setting the 0° bevel (90° vertical blade) reference point – is helpful, and the blade lock button – for locking the blade in position while tightening and loosening the blade bolt – is convenient, although I’ve found it easiest to hold the button with the thumb on my right hand while using my left hand to turn the 5mm hex key that engages the blade bolt. Incidentally, this is the first circular saw that I’ve owned that used a hex key to tighten and loosen the blade bolt. §The maximum depth of cut is spec’d at 2-13/32 inches. The thickest cuts I’ve made have been only 1-3/4. The saw had plenty of power to cut through dry pressure treated lumber. §Other considerations: I’ve done all my sawing outdoors in daylight and the built-in LED light hasn’t been a factor for me. I personally would not use a circular saw in low-light conditions, so I don’t know if it will ever be of much value. The saw has a port for connecting a vacuum for sawdust collection. It’s a nice feature that might be advantageous when using the saw indoors. The lower guard is made of plastic. I suppose the reason for that is to make the saw as light as possible. I would prefer a metal guard because every time I put the saw down it rests on the guard, and I fear that at some point in the future the plastic is going to crack and deteriorate. Also, although the saw has a slot for installation of a rip fence, one isn’t included with the saw. §Owner’s manual is well written and extremely useful. I read the entire instructions – with the saw in hand – before using the saw the first time. I highly recommend to others that they do the same. §Made in China.

I was looking for a SAW with a vacuum port and this is the only one I could find which is cordless and at a reasonable price. It works well so far and the brake works great. Dust port works amazingly well with a shop vac.

First thing take note this saw comes with a nice sized battery (more below) and a 24-tooth “ultra-thin carbide-tipped” blade (probably want a 40+ tooth for plywood etc as well). Also right off the bat it has a comfortable “Ergonomic Design” easy to grip and control. The adjustable tilt and depth levers are well sized and easy to control. As just a regular handyman homeowner I really like the 4.0Ah 20volt lithium battery. The battery even has a gauge to display the remaining battery charge, great thing to have at this level of a tool. It has plenty of power and since I’m not working 10 hr days it has enough lasting power for me. They also put in little things that to me make this a step ahead of competitors like a led light which helps you see if needed, an electric brake stops blade quicker and a dust blower helps a lot to keep the cut line more visible. If you have the right vac it has a removable dust port hose adapter another nice touch. One disappointment is that it has a Rip Fence Lock Knob but did not come with the Rip Fence.

Great saw. I wish it had the laser line that the corded version has. However, I’m really pleased I opted for the battery one. Enough power, a little heavy, but not too bad, and no cord to deal with. I trust the battery technology these days.

I had bought a 18 volt battery powered circular saw of another brand before and I hated it it was not easy or had enough power. That one was terrible cuts on thin plywood and was useless on bigger cuts. I have a corded Skil saw that I used and was pretty happy with. I decided to give battery powered another try and I was not disappointed. It is light and easy to use. The convenience of not having to plug in was great. I was cutting down the plywood ceilings in my 1970 manufactured home. Set the depth of the blade so I did not cut into the joists on accident and this made this go very quickly. It has the LED light which is helpful. It also has a USB charger that was its own separate component that you can put one of the 20 volt battery in and take with you. I did not think it would be useful but I took the kids out to the park for a rare trip out of the house and brought that with and kep my stuff charged. I really like the saw. Glad I tried battery powered again.

The Skil brand brushless 20 volt cordless 6-1/2 inch circular saw feels good in the hand and is heavy enough to feel like you have a tool in your hand, but light enough not to wear you out. The depth and bevel adjustments are well placed and easy to operate. The blade gets to cutting speed quickly at the press of the trigger and walks through a cut easily. The initial charge of the battery took about 40 minutes. The charger has a cooling fan that operates during the charging process. This is a good tool for jobs around the house.
