I wish there was a clip or small mouth on the drill driver to hold the screwdriver bit. Everything else was pretty flawless from the speed charging, to the extra power provided by the 20v battery, to the brushless motor. The light at the base is a nice touch. I like the settings on the neck of the drill driver, but I wanted positive audible clicking which I didn’t hear. The battery has a power indicator which is standard, however, when charging I wish all settings, and indicator faced the user. These best part of the drill driver is the ergonomics. Makes it feel like an extension of the hand. Great grip and you can apply pressure whenever you need. The packaging is outstanding.

I would give 5 stars except for the fact the chuck occasionaly loosens causing bit to fall out during use.

If you are still using that old drill you’ve had for years, this is the one to upgrade to! Love this thing! Thank you Santa!

I love the power, but I wish it had a clip or magnet or something to hold an extra bit.

Amazing driver. Able to drive 60 three inch screws in a project and battery is strong

I like the 20V Skil driver kit & would recommend it. The only thing I’ve noticed about it so far that is a negative is the drill bit tends to get loose in the chuck after a while & I have to retighten it. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

Great drill/driver for the money! Worth every penny! I’m looking forward to adding more tools/batteries for this 20v set!

Variable speeds, plenty of power, light to see what you’re doing. Great value!

Very reliable and strong drill. The led light is a great help in dark areas when drilling to see were exactly you are working.

I’ve owned multiple cordless drills over the years. I love the convenience of the cordless feature, but hate it when the battery fails, and the replacement costs of the battery is almost the cost of a new drill. All my other drills came with two batteries, and it seemed one battery would always last much longer than the other. Not sure if this is just variances in manufacturing, or affected by duty cycle. The other obviously advantage is that you can have a back-up battery to finish the job when the first battery dies. Anyway, two batteries are much more desirable package than one. The price of a Skil battery is about 2/3 the cost of this drill package, so if the battery dies, you may as well throw everything away and buy a new drill. The March 2020 issue of Wood Magazine had a large article on comparing 18- & 20-Volt drills. The Skil model DL529302 actually compared well in all performance issues, but received lower marks for LED effectiveness and a B+ rating (lower than most) for ease of using power switch. It actually beat everybody on the number of holes drilled with one charge. However, the big negative is that they only supply one battery. This drill (DL527502) is actually half the price of the 302, and nearly every other 20- volt drill. I didn’t feel this drill exhibited the negative comments Wood magazine noted on the 302 drill. This drill has a plastic chuck, compared to a metal one on the 302, and does not have the “brushless” motor feature. This is my first compact drill, and I like the size and balance. Also, its much lighter than my 18-volt DeWalt. The drill also has a cute feature of a rotation indicator light. I installed a 2.5” hole saw, and the drill did exhibit good torque. The chuck requires slightly more rotations than my DeWalt, to go from closed to fully open, which is good. I’m guessing manufacturers are phasing out the brushed drills, in favor for the brushless, and thus the good deals on these current drills. If you are satisfied with just one battery, then this is a nice drill for the money. I’m dropping the rating down to 4 stars, since it only has one battery.

This Skil Pwrcore drill, battery and charger arrived very quickly and all inclusive in a well packaged carton. It also had the 5 amp hour battery that I also ordered, included. I like the light weight of the drill. The specific features are the LED light and 1/2 inch chuck. I use it for all my home projects and keep it in my basement work shop. I will put this drill up against the other quality named drills. It gets the job done effortlessly. You will not be disappointed and you will love the economical price of it.I like it a lot. This is my second drill/driver drill. I keep the original one with the impact driver drill (as the photo depicts) in our garage.

In 1958 , just recently married I went to a Garage sale and the firs thing I spotted was a 7 1/4 inch SKIL SAW for sale, which I had always wanted and now moving into a rented home I knew that I would need to add some shelves to the Garage for storage and I had always wanted to own a Skil Saw and that was over 60 years ago and I still have and use that electric saw. When I saw that Skil had a portable 20 Volt battery operated drill, I knew that I also wanted one and I am totally impressed with the quality and features on this drill. It is powerful, compact solid and I know it will last forever. Over the years Skil has proven its worth and quality to me..

Imho SKIL makes great tools that work on demand and won’t let you down and this 20V 1/2 drill driver is a great example. It has all the features you would expect and a few more. It has a variable speed trigger switch,2 speed gearbox switch for low/high torque, simple slide switch for direction of rotation and LED worklight. There is also a green arrow to indicate wether you are going forward or reverse. It comes with a 20V lithium battery and charger and battery has a charge level indicator to let you know how much power is left. It also comes with a handy belt hook that attaches with a screw if needed. This is a smaller profile drill that I personally prefer and doesn’t give my hand/arm much fatigue. Uses all types of dril and screw bits and is easy to switch them out. Great drill for anyone to use on a daily basis and the lithium battery gives great power.

The Skil PWRCORE 20-volt Lithium-ion cordless 1/2 in drill driver has all of the features that I need in a drill. The battery is a 20 volt to give me more power. It has a charge indicator on the front of it so I can determine exactly how much charge the battery has simply by pressing a button. That is a GREAT feature and I no longer have to guess at the battery’s charge. The battery slides onto the charger and the drill, eliminating the nuisance press down and lock of other batteries and chargers. It is also very simple to disengage the battery from the drill by simply pressing the lock release and sliding the battery off of the drill. I am blown away that someone finally got the battery AND charger right: simple to use and good features. Skil also added a temperature management system, a cooling wrap on the batteries so they stay charged longer. I cannot say enough about the features of the drill. Some are to be expected such as the LED work light, the forward and reverse button, a keyless chuck and the variable speed trigger. This drill also has a two speed gearbox to give you greater speed when you need it and direction arrows so you can very easily tell which direction the chuck is turning. These things may seem minor, but they are all time and labor savers. I am really going to enjoy using this drill/driver on all of my projects.

1/2 inch keyless chuck drive with a 20 volt lithium ion battery. It has a high and low power torque setting. Also a forward and reverse switch and LED located on top for forward or reverse indication. The battery pack comes with a power charger. The drill chuck have multiple torque settings and a drill setting as well. Complete with a five year warranty.

Great product, fair price. My only concern is that sometimes you hear a strange noise from the clutch. I hope this is normal and it doesn’t foretell a breakdown at some point in the future. Nonetheless, the drill now works fine.
