I really like this hammer drill and the added power that it has for a cordless drill. It has a nice grip, came with a typical bit and battery with charger. The battery charges very quickly which is great. Also the LED light is really helpful. I do wish that there was a side grip to hold the drill as straight as possible. Also the dial moves with vibration sonit needs to be adjusted over periods of time.

SKIL PWRCORE 20-VOLT LITHIUM-ION CORDLESS SDS ROTARY HAMMER KIT This is a great quality tool. Lots of power with the 20 volt battery. Has a longer run time than I would have thought it would have. I like how comfortable the handle is and it’s fairly light weight. Flip of a switch takes you from regular drive to rotary hammer. Don’t really care for how the bit loads. For someone who has issues with hand strength it’s a bit of a challenge to get the head pulled back so that the bit can be inserted properly.

This hammer drill is a replacement for an old corded hammer drill. The old drill is still functional but I have gotten spoiled at not having to use extension cords. The current project was to drill four holes in my garage floor to accept anchors for mounting a tire changer. This hammer drill went through the ten year old concrete quickly and easily. The holes were nice and symmetrical which made it easy to install the anchors. One point is that it is advertised as a regular drill. To use this item as a drill with non SDS type bits you will have to buy an adapter chuck. It would be useful if that was clearly stated in the description.

This unit has the power of three drills in one! The Skil 20-Volt Rotary Hammer gives you the function of a hammer drill, drill and screwdriver all in 1 easy-to-use tool. Super easy to switch between modes. This unit looks good is light and easy to handle. It comes with everything you need to get to work right away. Unit, Charger and battery. If you have compatible 20 volt skill batteries you they can easily be switched between your cordless tools. This tool performed perfectly. I set up a canopy this weekend and needed to install secure pins to hold it down. I drilled out 16 holes in a matter of minutes and was on my way. I have had a number of corded drills. This unit allows me to take it right where I need it and not have to worry about hanging up a cord or tripping on a cord. Longer run time and battery life, the PWRCore 20-Volt lithium battery has an innovative temperature management system to keep battery cool and powering on through your projectThe variable speed control allows you to find the exact speed you need to drill what your working on! My best friend is very jealous of this unit and plans to buy his own! It was super easy to set up. Full charge took about an hour more or less. This unit gets Paul’s gold seal of approval!

What a drill. I used it recently on an install and it was as good as any AC powered hammer drill I have used in the past. There is plenty of power and as a test I drilled a field stone 5” deep in 40 seconds, WOW!The drill switches from drill to hammer drill with a switch of a dial. I also like the chuck that will take two types of drill shanks.. Both hex bits and the quick connect stone drill bits.

Finally an affordable rotary hammer drill with a great warranty. This is three tools in one that combines a hammer drill, a drill and power screwdriver all-in-one. The SKIL brand has always been perceived as the tools for the average novice. Due to SKIL making major changes to their tool line I can honestly say that that is no longer the case. Skill has turned a major corner on their 20 volt tool line. Just the bold black and red tool color and the feel of the tools in my hands verifies my expectations. This rotary hammer drill has features that are used on the commercial brands. The multi-function chuck is compatible with the SDS system plus drilling bit and 1/4″ hex bit. Has a direction LED indicator that indicates if the hammer drill is in the forward or reverse direction. Has an LED light that luminates the work area and turns off seconds after the trigger is released. Variable speed is 0-900 RPM (revolutions per minute), impact rate 0-5000 BPM (beats per minute), and impact force of 0.7 foot pounds. To extend battery life here a few dos and don’ts concerning the batteries. Store batteries to 100% charged after use, do not leave batteries on tools when storing and do not leave the batteries in the charger unless unplug from the wall receptacle. By following these 3 dos and don’ts this will increase the battery life tremendously. What also makes this a great deal is Skill carries a 3 year warranty…..IF YOU REGISTER THE TOOLS AT registermyskil.com THEY’LL EXTEND THE WARRANTY BY 2 ADDTIONAL YEARS to a total of 5 years.

This kit includes the rotary hammer, a battery, a battery charger, and an adapter for use with hex bits that would otherwise be too short to use directly. I have used this rotary hammer to drill in concrete, concrete blocks, and clay brick. It is fast, much quicker than an old corded hammer drill that I have been using. It is also nosier. The instructions recommend hearing protection and I concur. This tool can use either SDS drive or hex drive bits. For drilling in concrete, concrete block or brick I prefer the SDS drive drill bits as they are made specifically for that purpose. This tool can also be used as a straight-up drill or power screw driver for materials such as wood, plastic or metal. I have used it in wood and it works just fine, but because of its size, It seems like a bit of overkill for that use. When I have many holes to drill or screws to drive in wood, I would reach for my smaller, easier to handle drill or impact driver, but for concrete, concrete block, or brick, this rotary hammer with SDS drive bits is clearly the best choice.

I was surprised by this hammer drill. The battery is small and even though it has a SDS chuck it comes with a 1/4 hex driver that stores on the handle and I thought it might be more suited to that. But I chucked up a 5/16 SDS bit and tried drilling a hole in a scrap of 1 inch thick paver. It blew right through it like a “real” hammer drill. I also own a 10 amp rotary hammer and I’m not sure it would have done this any quicker. I wish it has a hammer only mode like my big drill but this seems very capable of drilling holes in concrete and brick.
