Bought this saw boxed at a store. Imagine my surprise when I get it home and open it, only to find that there is no carry case with it. First time I’ve ever bought a power tool that did not come with a case. Can’t rate it five stars because of that. And no parts list in the booklet, so now I have to try and find a case for it. And for the cost of the saw a case should come with it. Aggravating. I may return it. If you see this in a store, be sure to open the box and see if it’s in a carry case before you buy it.

This saw is a straight forward, very powerful saw with a new feature to reduce the vibration associated with these saws called Buzzkill. Not fancy on features, they have decided that power and vibration control is what is needed on the job and they might be just right. Not a light saw, but can tackle the best demo that you have. A pleasure to work with.

I broke the blade in the jaw 1st time I used it…and couldn’t get it to release it. It’s was sent in and fixed quickly with no cost. It seems comparable to the Milwaukee-Super Sawzall… Decent tool!

Out of the box it appeared to be just another reciprocating saw, but boy was I surprised. The initial feel was familiar, the front grip ever so slightly larger but for good, or should I say great cause. This refinement allows for greater shock dampening and less user fatigue when cutting through the toughest of materials. The nice long stroke and did I mention the power? I was unable to stall or bind the blade, that being said get a good blade something nice long and carbide.

This is my third reciprocating saw. The last saw had so much vibration that my hands would become numb after a short while. This one is a little heavy but I don’t mind. I have only used it a few times but it’s been so much better. The vibration is almost unnoticeable. I’m very happy with it.

great saw for what I purchased it for. I had to disassemble the finished area of my parent’s basement due to water damage. The reciprocating saw made it much easier and faster. Would have been nice if the saw would have been made in America. I rarely give out max stars and even more rare would be for me to give out max stars to a product I feel should be made USA or North america

Seems to be well built. As some other reviews have said, the part for the second hand hold can get warm with continued use. It is also a bit heavy to use with just one hand. Other than that it worked well for about 4 hours of use.

First impression was that the tool is very heavy. Put enough weight behind anything and it will not vibrate as much I thought. Tool performed as I expected was impressed at speed of cut and power. Vibration was minimalized in comparison to my Rigid and Milwaukee. But weight is definitely a factor in how often I grab it off the shelf. Very happy with the 1 1/8″ stroke and trigger speed controll. Made in China but seems to be a quality product. Extra long 8′ cord also a plus. Most of all I love the SkilSaw name. 🙂
