The saw has the power I had hoped for. The blade did not last very long, the carbide tips all fell off on the first use.

good saw, electrical cord is a little short, and included blade is basic. a little tricky to figure out how to secure the blade for a beginner and the cuts are pretty rough until you actually get skilled at how to handle the circular saw but much better quality (metal versus plastic) saw protection than ryobi ($50 instead of &80). The extra cost is worth the peace of mind and safety.

I tried the cheapest one I could find and it was a toy. I purchased this instead and it is a good purchase.
