The saw is awesome good power, nice balance. Being able to place the auxiliary handle in different positions is very useful. I changed blades for a better crosscut, blade that comes with the saw would be good for ripping, stock blade has too much tear out for crosscutting.

Saw has been a great deal..been using it to cut 2x10s .4 high and 4 across. Cut thru with no effort. Also it’s very satisfying to cut a 6×6 in one cut.Only complaint. Couldn’t order additional blades from same place ordered saw.

Came as advertised, all kinds of torque and the blade has held up so far. bought 1 mo ago maybe 100 cuts and no complaints. This thing is beast.

Cuts smoothly even on mitres on beams

This is a massive machine but not too heavy. It can be manipulated fairly easily with caution. The only negative I’ve observed is that the blade is somewhat thin and as usage hours build up the blade tends to flex slightly. However, the saw itself works as advertised. It WILL cut through a 6×6 with ease. I’ve gone from 15 cuts to notch a 6×6 with a 7 1/4 Skillsaw to 3 cuts with this one.

The saw is well balanced and has plenty of power. The saw does have a vibration when cutting. I have double checked the blade and can’t seem to diagnose the problem.

What an amazing tool to have on the jobsite. Easily cuts beam and timbers. Worked great for bundle cutting I-joist too. The saw has good power and is easily controlled.

One powerful saw.

great for cutting 6×6 or 3 2x in on pass. But angle cutting 6×6 seems a little under powered, other then that it is a good saw. Just looking at it, it doesn’t look real. It looks like a movie or a game prop.

This is a very serious circular saw that delivers professional quality work. My first impression, right out of the box, was that the included quick release stand is going to allow me to put this on the ground or in my truck without damaging the saw or scratching anything. As impressive as its ability to cut a 6X6 in one pass, It is equality impressive that is will cut a 4×4 at up to a 45 degree angle with one pass. Both the angle and depth of cut are easily adjusted and locked into place. I have always liked a worm drive for their shear power and this saw delivers as advertised. It really is a beast. On a saw this powerful a good automatic brake is needed and this one slows the spin very adequately. Another really nice feature is that it has a vari-torque clutch to help control kickback, (yes, with something this powerful I actually read the instruction manual). At 27 lbs this is no lightweight but, due to it’s magnesium die cut foot plate, it is much lighter than my previous large saw and is quite stable in use. The included 32 tooth carbide blade is a good match that gives both accurate and smooth cuts. Sawdust deflects nicely out of cut area and can attach to my shop vac. Other than needing to watch the worm drive oil level, the saw requires minimum maintenance. Really welcome addition making work quicker and easier.

Let’s start by saying – this is a BIG saw! I’ve been cutting doug fir 6×6″ and 6×8″ to prep header packages on a home we’re about to be framing. The Super Sawsquatch made light work of it, cutting through 6x material with ease. While cutting, the majority of sawdust goes out of the port on the opposite side of the blade, making it really easy to see your line while making your cut! The SKILSAW 16-5/16″ blade cuts like a dream, and doesn’t walk at all either. I love the saw stand too! It works great for transport, and keeps the saw blade and guard safe while carrying it around the jobsite. The electric brake is really nice, you can barely feel it while it brings the blade to a halt. Overall, weighing only 27lbs, it’s really comfortable to carry and use! This saw is smooth, lightweight, accurate as can be. This is our go-to for all big material!

I needed a saw to cut through two by sixes on a deck not cut through the floor. I purchased this saw to do exactly that and it worked beautifully no kick back because it was smooth and I was done with my work in no time.

We had a chance to put the new Super Sasquatch to the test at our shop. Previously we used the original Sasquatch, unfortunately sometimes our large slabs would exceed the cutting capacity of the machine. Now, completely different story, the phrase that captures it is “game changer”. I no longer have to limit the dimensions of the slabs we mill in order to match my cutting capacity. For a saw with so much power it actually moves smoothly through the cut and is rather easy to control with nice weight distribution. I would say this tool is an absolute tool in your arsenal, especially when dealing with large slabs.

Not much to say. If you want to do a good job on beam work this is the only way. Super good saw. Works well. Handles great considering the size. Its also surprisingly light.

I’m not sure where to start, but it beats its competition hands down. After a few weeks of cutting large 12×16 and 6×16 cedar beams I found it to be more than adequate. Its true test starts next week when I start cutting 6×16, 8×16 & 16×16 white oak timbers. However I can say that its base is built tough and far better than its competition. Its worm drive motor has plenty of torque and its anti kick back clutch has definitely been pleasing to say the least!

I’ve been using this saw for the last couple months… mainly to cut 6×6 cedar, and the ease in which the super Sasquatch enters the material is unmatched. Coming from the makita beam saw, I was absolutely blown away by the smoothness, power, and very importantly… the way the sawdust exited on the opposite side of the blade. This made watching you me cut line so much easier!!

I’ve been a Carpenter for over 40 years and have used many “Beam Saws” made by many manufacturers and this beast is a gentle, smooth cutting Giant. Never during my career have I used one that didn’t go rapid RPM on me and cause a twist, this saw is the real deal. More than met my expectations,

Extreme, heavy, solid. the worm drive is pretty powerful and the clutch performs well when pinching happens. Plenty of safety features. Unfortunately the push clamp used to lock the blade at different levels snapped upon my first use of it. This could’ve been a faulty design or just a bad part.

My rating is preliminary. I have cut timbers for set of timber trusses. The saw is a bit noisy compared to Makita. It has sufficient power and the sole plate is great, much better than Makitas . I have had same size Makitas for almost 40 years. Remarkable stamina but shoddy sole plates and is direct drive with blade on wrong hand for me. Happy to have Skil but the test is how long it will run. I have had a Skil 7 1/4 since 1965 and it never faltered. As professional builder I use power saws a lot. I have 20 circular saws. The Bosch as Skil actually showed some improvements in design and has held up . I will write more after I have cut out this 50X70 roof and the rest of timberframe shop. Skil beam saw will be first line of action cutting all green Lutz spruce, 6X8 through 12. Happy with saw so far.
