The saw was set up perfectly right out of the box and I really like the big wheels on the stand. Upgrade the miter gauge to all metal is the only thing I would change.

I bought this saw to finish some projects around the house. Am I glad I did! It cuts through wood like it’s butter! After struggling ripping boards with a circular saw, this is so easy! Great features and love the big wheels! They make moving the saw easy… from the garage…over curbs, sidewalks, in the grass… no problem. Handy storage of all the tools and accessories that come with it too. Very happy with this saw! Made building my backyard swing a dream!

I have had most of the table saws a contractor or hobbyist can purchase that are portable. First the Pros: I need the ability to fold it up and put it away (small shop), it’s almost as good as the orange one for movement (orange is smaller and can fold up more neatly taking less space overall). First thing I want to say about this saw is the pure power that this motor and worm drive system produces… the yellow, orange, blue brands, and all others can’t come close to this. I had to mill and cut down very large beam wood I had for free to make into furniture and butcher block. Doing this at the full depth of cut on the other just sucked, it bogged down and was just dangerous. On this saw I could not tell I was cutting a 1×4 or 4×6, NO DIFFERENCE! Stock blade is awesome, but I put on a full kerf blade from Freud, because I wanted a better cut and a blade that wouldn’t burn my stock. No issues to add a much heavier blade. With a nice blade and this saw I can cut just about anything with no blade burn. It’s a nice feature to have the ability to remove the bottom dust guard. Dust collection is great, could be better (small gap in dust removal part causes fine dust to get out). The precision fence system (just like yellow one…) is fantastic. Almost every piece of this saw is a higher gauge in quality in comparison. Lets move onto the not so great part for a $579 saw…The Bad:I had to spend about an hour squaring the blade. Needing to adjust the bevel screws to make it work. I also bought the zero clearance plate for this saw. That was a waste of money and I will be returning. That plastic thing is a joke at best. There is a small design flaw on the right side of the insert slot. There seems to be an assumption that the plate would be fully supported over 10 inches without any reinforcement. This doesn’t mess with the metal inserts, but if you get the zero clearance it’s pointless. The fence is great, but it feels like it’s going to fall apart eventually. The internal locking mechanism is metal on this, but the clips out and around it are all plastic. It came with a bent wheel, I called customer service. The guy was amazing and immediately shipped out a replacement wheel. All that said, the motor alone on this system is just ridiculous. I don’t like plastic in my saws, but I get it. I wish they could be made in USA, but profit margin just isn’t there. Who is going to a home store to buy a $$$$ saw??? Not many. We are a victim of our own cheapness. Thanks Skilsaw for making this beast. I think I might replace my yellow miter with yours soon….

This saw is a beast, the worm drive supplies so much power it just eats anything you put through it.Assembly was pretty easy. It sets up and stores easily, after looking at reviews on 7 other saws of similar construction, I am glad I purchased this one.

Setup took longer than I expected but was easy enough despite some ambiguity in the instructions. Also, the instructions could have better illustrations of where to store the accessories. Performance on a bunch of rip cuts on 2x’s was excellent using the included Diablo blade. I bought the optional outfeed support which I highly recommend, takes the place of the helper who is never around when you need them. I am particularly impressed with the ease of transport and storage. One improvement that Skil could make would be to refine the dust collection kit. The saw has a narrow basin that encases the blade below table level and which has an exhaust port that feeds onto an outlet tube that can be hooked to a hose or else pointed into a bucket. I found that this basin becomes impacted with sawdust after a bit of use. Some R&D on air flow dynamics would easily solve this problem. Moreover, it would be easy to fit a cyclone to the outlet tube to make dust collection 100x more efficient so this would be a great option to offer. The rack an pinion seems a little stiff but resist the temptation to lube it up as any grease would only serve to jam the slide with impinged sawdust. I have not yet done refined cuts but from what I see so far that should be possible without needing to recalibrate the blade or fence which are squared up properly as best I can measure. Finally, this has plenty of power, the safety accessories are unobtrusive and quite functional and are easily mounted and dismounted, no thanks (again) to the instruction manual. The manual does have some basic instructions on technique which the user will benefit from reading.

Completely awesome. Wish had a long fence for cutting full sheet of plywood. I went and got roller stands instead

I am very much a beginner woodworker with limited tablesaw experience, but I find this saw easy to set up and use. I have been able to get great quality cuts and the rack and pinion fence system is an absolute must have for me. It came fairly well dialed in right out of the box, but the riving knife needs a little adjustment, as it pinches the piece against the fence a little bit. My only criticism isn’t even about the saw, but the mitre gauge that came with it. It’s just not very substantial and pretty sloppy in the groove which made some of my cross cuts a little inaccurate. That being said, though, I know I’m just going to build a mitre sled and cross cut sled anyway, so I’m glad they didn’t waste the money on an item I probably wouldn’t use anyway.

By far the best portable table saw money can buy… I love everything about it and wish I had upgraded earlier. The rail / guide system is amazing. With a good dust collector hooked up it catches everything. The blade is very good, the stand and the wheels are perfect. Two thumbs up !

Just got it so my review is limited. It is the largest portable table saw I have owned. This is good but was unexpected from pictures. The stand is stable and easy to maneuver with the large wheels. The saw was square and the fence was dead nuts right out of the box. Very happy about that. Assembly was very easy and instructions were adequately informative. I made one adjustment to the folding stand lock to tighten it slightly so as to improve the alignment of the lock assembly. The one negative review that complained of the bolts rubbing on the folding stand. I am not having this issue because the stand has dimples in the tube where that may have been a past issue. Looks like Skill improved that. Love the Diablo blade in this package. Great saw so far.

I’ve only used this saw a few times so far, but even with limited exposure, it’s one of the best portable table saws I’ve ever used. It absolutely cuts without any bogging down, just clean, continuous kerfs until the piece (or pieces) is done. I’m very pleased with it, so far. I’ll be obtaining a dado blade shortly and giving it a try soon.

This is a fantastic table saw. The portability is superb. I love the way the fence works and it is extremely accurate. The only criticism I can offer is the directions for assembling the folding stand. They are difficult to follow and the illustrations aren’t great. I just used the photo on the box to help me get the pieces together correctly. You won’t go wrong with this saw.

I used this saw at a job site immediately after it arrived. It is very easy to set up. Folded up, it fits easily in the back of my truck with my miter saw. Alignment was great right out of the box. Assembly instructions were easy to understand. I have been ripping 1 inch and 2 inch stock with no problem. It powers through every cut. All accessories have a secure storage location. The wheeled stand is superior to any I have tried before.
