Wow, very heavy duty cutters. I got these cutters for `8/2 wire and larger that is a pain to cut with anything else. I got tired of trying to cut these with linemen’s pliers and hack saws. These cutters will handle 1/0, 2/0 wire well. The opening jaws will handle even larger. The ratcheting action cuts through the wire easily. It is very easy on you hands with the squeeze action. The cuts are clean and ready for the next steps. Nice grips and it is easy to store in your caddy or tool bag

We use this were I work. Big step up from our old cutter. The ratchet system allows for the big cuts with out killing your hand.

I bought them for residential service wire, and they work great on 2/0 and 4/0 SER.

They work as they should accept the wouldn’t allow the jaw to open once you had closed it around something.

Seems to be a good quality tool, except the lock lever is flimsy. Use it frequently. The company where I work has purchased the same cutter.

Well I bought this thinking it was a residential wire/cable cutter. I guess I should have read the description better. This is clearly for very large wire. I almost think that it’s too big to cut the main underground wire to my house. It really doesn’t fit my usage. It does appear to be able to cut some thick wire. I took a few photos next to some common household wire including 220 line to show how big these cutters are.
