What can I tell you about the tool, it’s a must have. First of all, it is very versatile. You can use it as a stripper on different sizes of wires. As a professional you can use it on any job task. I highly recommend it to any DIY user.

I have had these strippers now for a while and have gotten some use with them. I like that they are ergonomic and feel good in my hands. They cut the outer sheath of romex very well. And strip wire pretty good. The design is similar to others. I like the locking mechanism on these. It seems to be well built and I hope to get lots of use from them.

I received my Southwire wire strippers today; these wire strippers have a lot of handy features. I especially like the 10/2-12/2 wire stripper; it works exceptionally well. The wire strippers have a built-in hole to loop wire, and I like the 6-32 and the 8-32 screw shears, very handy.I tried these wire strippers on a piece of 12-2 wire and they work perfectly. These Southwire wire strippers are well made from stainless steel and are easy to carry high-quality stripper with a five-year warranty.

This wire stripper has openings for multiple side wires including Romeo. The handles are comfortable and the tool locks in the closed position so you will not loose your grip using it. The wire sizes are marked on both sides of the blades. The cutting surface is very sharp and should stay that way for a long time. I wish this was American made, my only complaint is that it was made in China.

These wire strippers are really sharp. They strip and cut wires very well. The handles are comfortable and don’t slip in your hand. The handles are also rounded with a coating and not just coated flat metal that digs into your palms. These are comfortable to use, even for a longer period of time. I like how the different sizes are labeled on the tool itself. They have a hinged locking mechanism which keeps the strippers closed when not in use. The packaging they come in is nice and presentable. It’s easy to open as well, so I had no issues getting the tool out.

I was excited when given the opportunity to try out this tool. Having used Romex 12/2 before I have struggled with a quick and easy way to strip the outer jacket and prep the inside wires. While pros can get by with a utility knife, for me this is the perfect tool. Measuring 8 inches long and 2 inches wide when closed, it includes a comfortable 3.5 inches of double insulated handle. The handle is long enough to get a good grip on without taking too much space in your tool bag. In addition to being able to cut the sheath off of 12/2 and 10/2 Romex, it can strip 10 and 12 gauge wire. The tool includes a serrated nose for pulling and twisting, guides for looping wire, cutting blades, crimping tool, and the ability to shear 6-32 and 8-32 screws. Shearing is accomplished by threading in the screw to the desired length and closing the handle. Cutting the thicker screw took two hands, but the cut was very clean with no damage to the thread. This tool with cleanly strip the sheath off the Romex and leave the inside wires untouched. The soft spring action makes stripping a bunch of cable less tiring on your hand. Unlock some other tools the spring is protected and not likely to pop out. The lock can easily be accessed with the thumb while holding the tool. While this tool won’t completely replace my current wire stripper, it will be the first one that I grab as it can perform a variety of task efficiently.

I appreciate the ease of using this tool. It is very sharp and cuts wires easily. It is also labeled nicely which makes it easy to tell which each sectioned is used for. The double dipped grip is smooth and easy to hold. Very well made and looks as if it will hold up for a very long time. High quality product!

As a commercial electrician,I don’t get to mess with Romex very often. However these came in quite handy while doing a side job. These are another example of how innovative Southwire is. This tool shaved off several seconds on each termination I made. As always I am excited to see what cool new tools southwire will come out with next.

I always seem to get just a little more with Southwire Tools. What I really like about these cable strippers is they are sturdy but light at the same time. The pivot points move easy but don’t bend. Great product.

This is the tool you need for Romex. This tool can handle the 2 most common sizes you use in a house build or remodel. Lets you strip the Romex whole not individually like i was doing before. You can also strip 10 or 12 gauge by themselves as well. The cutters are excellent and being stainless steel you don’t have to worry about rust. The tool fits comfortably into your hand and gives you effortless use. When you are ready to finish and put the covers on the outlet box you can cut your screws if you want. great tool over all.

Excellent tool. Stays sharp after multiple cuts, handles are rubber coated to prevent hurting your hands, best job of cutting 10/2 & 12/2 wire I’ve used

I was always taught to use my knife to score down the middle of the cable, peel it back then cut off the jacket, then use my strippers to do my make-up, with this, you are able to do it all in two steps, crimp around base of cable, pull off, and make-up… done! Love it, never cuts inner wires, quick easy and safe…

The Wire Stripper and Cutter for 10-12 AWG from Southwire. Is a must have tool for any electrician. I really like the ergonomic handles, that fit perfectly in my hand. This is not a chain store tool. This is a quality crafted wire cutter that will last a very long time. The stainless steel cutter jaws cut the wire with ease. And it cute the sheathing off romex cable without damaging the inner wires. They even have the handles double insulated for safety reasons. It even has a thumb operated closure that works great. I am proud to include this tool in my electrical bag. Keep up the good work Southwire.
