I used the Southwire V-notch Wire Strippers for the very first time, as I generally use the regular wire strippers, and I really liked the V-notch wire strippers better as they cut copper & aluminum wire beter than anything I’ve used before. They’re multi position dial allows you to easily set to proper AWG size. It’s convenient, compact size to fit in your pocket.

This a great wire stripper to have. Great product. Compact for easy handling, and can simply be used using one hand. The hand grips are very comfortable and fit the hand well. It cuts solid and stranded wire from 24 gauge to 10 gauge. Hard to find wire cutters that with that range. Multi position dial for stripping gauge adjustment is awesome to have so you don’t cut into the copper wire.

Really enjoyed this wire stripper, sturdy and can lock it for safety. These have a gage thickness so you don’t cut into the copper wire, blades are very sharp and with cut with ease. They are light weight and can strip wire from 10gage to 24 ga no problems, they feel built sturdy for a long lifetime of use. Overall I like this stripper by Southwire, would recommend this product hands down.

Small but comfortable handles and clear, easy to read ‘flattened’ gauge settings. No question what setting you are on as they are good positive contact. Sharp blades and tight fit. Easily cut through 12 gauge to 22 gauge wire I tried it on. Nice clean cuts on insulation and wire. Easily stripped solid and stranded wire. I am very happy with these strippers and added them to my tool bag right away.

The Southwire V-Notch Wire Stripper is a great wire stripper for standard, household, activities. Since it is a V-notch, it can be used across a wide range of wiring sizes with proper care. This unit also has a good size cutting surface, as well. The ergonomics of the handle could be better, or at least more like other offerings by Southwire. Overall, not the most comfortable pair of strippers I have used, but also, not bad. In terms of ergonomics, I would put this unit somewhere in the middle of the road. The handles could also be a little bit longer for those of use with larger hands. The locking mechanism is within easy reach of your thumb, allows you to safely lock the tool before putting it in your pocket, tool belt,or tool bag. This should reduce the chance of snagging it, or damaging other tools, or the pocket/belt/bag. This particular set of v-notch strippers has one of the better locking mechanisms I have seen on this type of tool. Pros: Nice grip, good locking mechanism

I love this V- Notch wire stripper. It is small enough to fit in any pocket. Can strip several different size wires very quickly. It can also cut small wires. It has soft bright yellow handles that won’t hurt your hands and are easy to find in your work area. Definitely a must have for small electrical jobs such as hanging lights or changing out recepticals.

These little v notch strippers are perfect! I’ve had these for about a week already, and they have already surpassed my expectations. They have a nice, positive engagement on all the dial positions, and cut clean. Perfect size to fit in just about any small pouch of pocket. 10-24 AWG solid or 12-26 AWG stranded copper or aluminum – these will probably continue to be my new go-to strippers for most jobs.

The Southwire wire stripping tool worked really well on 18 gauge strand wire. It wasn’t as easy with a 14 gauge wire, however. Overall, it certainly works and I would recommend it. It has a dial on it to adjust the wire stripper to fit different thickness, or gauge, of wire, which is a very handy addition to any tool! It is a comfortable size and fits the hand nicely.
