What can I say about a pair of needle nose pliers? Either they are junk or not and these most definitely are not. Once I got them loosened up to my liking I was completely sold. Grip, stripping hole, and cutters all are great. You can’t go wrong.

My only problem is i think the teeth/metal head are a little to fine . I would like to see a bit more depth for holding power on twisting wires and such .

They are okay. Not great quality as one of the handles is deformed. They are loose out of packaging and have a built in #12 stripper.

These long nose pliers are indeed heavy duty, they feel strong in my hands. They are everything I require in a hand tool, the cutters are very sharp and cut wire early. Being able to strip 12 AWG solid wire is a great feature and it does it very well. These heavy duty pliers also have serrated jaws which give them incredible gripping power. The tip of the pliers also make a nice loop in the wire for wiring switches and recepticals. The jaws are strong and tight and I can safely say that they are the best long nose pliers I have ever owned.

Look at the size! This is a serious long nose plier. At 8 inches they are longer than most, and the length is not all in the nose. The handles are most of the length, giving these pliers good leverage for cutting or gripping. The cushioned handles are thick and do a good job. There is a #12 wire stripper built in the cutter, which some may find useful. I thought perhaps it would make these my go-to pliers for working for working with #12 NM. With a Romex stripper, I thought you could do it all. But I found that the stripping gap prevents a clean cut of the jacket. So if you think you need the full width of the cutter, you may find the gap gets in the way. But if you are working with individual wires, these pliers will work great for you. The rounded edges form a perfect eye on solid wires, and the serrated jaws grip tightly. Fit and finish is great with good simultaneous full closure of the nose and the cutter. I’ll grab these first, even though I’m not crazy about the wire stripper.

These pliers are very strong, comfortable and cut wire easily. I use these everyday on various electrical tasks. I grab wires from small holes. I remove knockouts out with them. I make loops for outlets and switches for side wiring. They feel like they will last a lifetime and they are the perfect size.The pliers made out of quality, durable metal. The joint has no wobble and is very smooth. My pair required no break in. The nose lines up perfectly. There is a built in stripper for 12 AWG. The stripper is comes in very handy. It is sharp and hasn’t dulled. I only wish there was a stripper for 14 AWG too.Overall the build quality is great. This tool will outlast me unless it takes a flying leap off my ladder. I would definitely recommend buying these.

When I got these I thought they were just needle nose pliers. Since having them I found the wire stripping and cutting function to be of great use. Very durable. They only say they are good for stripping 12awg solid wire but find that they strip stranded pretty well also.

I recieved these about a month ago and I have put them through about 15 or so hours of usage. I depend on tools to do the job I put them to, and these Southwire pliers do just that. They provide excellent leverage for the side cutter portion/wire stripper and do just what they are made to do. If you are looking for a more all in one tool, southwire also makes a combination pair of these with a lot more tools on it, and spring leverage.

Easy to use once broken-in. The 12-gauge wire stripper lets your strip a wire without reaching for another tool. I would prefer the stripper be closer to the point of the pliers for easier wire stripping inside junction boxes especially when retrofitting with existing wiring. Otherwise, the Long Nose pliers work great..
