This tool was made very well. I love how sturdy it is and how well it was made. Love all the features! Has a very nice grip on the handles. Love how it’s labeled for people who aren’t as experienced. I also love how sturdy the spring is. Doesn’t seem to get stuck like most other brands i have tried.

High quality stainless steel and beautifully cushioned handles would make this seem like a no brainer if you do a lot of making up your own antenna connections, whether it be for TV or for shortwave or ham radio. I made a clean cut to length easily with the main cutter on some RG6 cable. Then I cut the sheathing with the cutter marked ‘RG6’ (nice acid etching there).but the cutter had to be tightly squeezed and spun around a few times to get through, and then it took more effort to pull off the sheathing than I would have thought. After peeling back the braided ground the smallest part of the cutter makes quick work of cutting the white plastic down to the copper core without nicking it. Don’t get me wrong, this tool works okay. For someone who does this only occasionally a sharp utility knife might suffice. For a radio hobbyist I would think a more professional unit might be more satisfying to use.

The Southwire Coax Cable Cutter & Strippers are very lightweight you can put them on your tool belt, in your tool box or glove box, very compact.. They ard very easy to use, they strip through wire the 1st time without having to make multiple cuts that frey the wire.. It’s easy to cut off any rough/freyed edges, and easily lines up straight cut across wire, no all freyed or warped. You can use them for any peojects needing to cut, trim, or strip wire for electrical jobs, stereo installs, taillight kits, pretty much anything you can image needing wire strippers/cutters for.

I install communication radios and run antenna coax on a regular basis. It took me a little bit to get used to the different feel than my old strippers in the hand. So far these do not strip the outer casing very cleanly. I had to work it a bit to strip it off. I was able to strip the inner shielding easily with out nicking the center wire. Ill use these a bit more to see if i get used to them but as of right now my old green handled pair were better.

I don’t install a lot of Cable, but everytime I have needed to I wish I would have had a a better set of coax strippers. I got my hands on these SouthWire Strippers and after using them once, got rid of the “other” guy.

These are stainless steel coax cutters. They are able to cut 3 different sizes of wire that they cut. They are very durable and easy to use. They are well made from the cutters all the way to the handles. They cut size 18, RG59, RG6. They cut with the bladed end very easily. They strip and cut wire at the ends with ease. They are made in CHINA, and will make a good starter cutting tool.

Love that it is made out of Stainless means I don’t have to worry about it rusting. It is a perfect size easy to use. It doesn’t open to far meaning you can do it with one hand. Lock, unlock, cut and strip. The only down size, the handle material is a little on the slick side.

The coax cutter / stripper has been an amazing tool that is very well used. I like that it has different sizes for the holes so you dont have to guess on anything.
