I’ve had these about a week, and they’re performing excellent. The cut is clean for stripping both the outher sheathing and inner core. and the cutting edge near the hinge punches through coax with little effort. The overmolded comfort grips are a nice touch, making it easier to use these for long periods of time without discomfort.

Very sharp and cuts clean and easy! I like how the handle is comfortable as well. I also like how easy they are to use in tight fit spaces. Such a great tool!!

Another great tool from Southwire! Solidly built and does it’s job without failing on me. The stainless construction keeps me from having to worry about it if there’s a little rain and the stainless tools just seem to last far better than the plain steel ones. My tool bag is starting to fill up with yellow Southwire tool handles.

These Coax cutter/strippers are a quick and versatile way to prepare your coax for any connector. Let’s face it , if your profession requires you to install many of a specific style of connector every day there are specific tools to make that job easier. On the other hand if you only deal with coax every now and then or enjoy hobbies like HAM radio, this tool is perfect for you. Even for professionals that are not limited to one type of connector, this tool can expand your abilities. I have found the sizing for the strip gauges to be well designed. As I striped different brands of cable it worked well on each of them. This tool will go on the truck for sure.

This coax cutter/stripper makes a clean strip without cutting through the grounding mesh wire. These are stainless and have a solid weight which is the making of a quality product. The tip is used as a cable tie cutter which is a nice added feature.

So I’ve always used the old style of coax stripper where you spin it around the cable multiple times to strip back the ends, which is nice to have to two lengths stripper back all at once. However if you’re doing enough of these in a row you know exactly where the jacket should be stripper which makes these coax strippers very handy. Just as stripping wire, it’s a squeeze pull and done, making the time to strip each wire shorter and easier which adds up if you’re planning on making up many ends. This tool has definitely earned a spot in my low-voltage bag.

Again southwire is proving nay sayers wrong, I have almost switched completely over to just southwire because their rules are great and don’t cost a arm and a leg

Southwire Coax Cable Cutter & Stripper is a great wire stripper for standard, household, cable wiring applications. The typical Coax sizes are included (RG6, RG59 and an 18ga stripper for the core) on this tool. The 18ga notch for he core is nice, as many other strippers I have used have not had that feature, requiring me to have 2 tools to do a single job. The ergonomics of the handle could be better, or at least more like other offerings by Southwire. The material is firm, but pliable enough to conform to the hand, and, likely, reduce vibration, as well. Overall, not the most comfortable pair of strippers I have used, but also, not bad. In terms of ergonomics, I would put this unit somewhere in the middle of the road. The locking mechanism is within easy reach of your thumb, allows you to safely lock the tool before putting it in your pocket, tool belt,or tool bag. This should reduce the chance of snagging it, or damaging other tools, or the pocket/belt/bag. The markings are well defined and clearly readable on the tool. And the range of motion the tool provides is very good, allowing for easy maneuvering in tight or awkward spaces.Pros: Nice grip, clear markings

This is perfect for anyone both professional and homeowner that needs a nice coax stripper. Nice sharp cutter and good grip. The only problem is the locking mechanism gets loose over time and will lock on it’s own while I’m using it. I do also wish the grips were more ergonomic but all in all it’s a good tool.
