The Southwire Strip All wire stripper is a good addition to my electrical tool set. With a precision depth adjustment, I can easily strip the jacket off of Romex or RG6 coaxial tv cable wire without damaging the inner conductors. I used this wire stripper to install an outdoor plug and light. This stripper made the job much easier and safer. The unit is small (palm sized) making it easy to use and carry in your tool bag. The unit comes with a spare blade housed in the back of the handle. Fortunately the blade should last a long time because blade replacement is a little tricky. All in all, this is a good tool to have if you need to strip romex or coaxial cable.

This review is of Southwire’s Seatek series “Strip-All” wire stripper. My old wire stripper is over 30 years old and it is time to get a new one, and “Strip-All” fills the bill. It will handle Romex wire from 3/8” to 7/8” diameter. The feature I like most about it? The stripping knife’s depth is adjustable, according to the thickness of the outer jacket around the wire. I tried it out on 14 through 12 gauge wire, and it made quick work of cutting the jacket consistently, without damaging the inner wires. For me it seemed to work best holding the stripper by the very tip of the business end of the stripper. The blade adjustment has a micrometer to help with incremental jacket thickness changes. It comes with a replacement blade and is well made. I believe it is a tool that I will be able to pass down to my son. I like it.

I’m using this Seatek Strip-All to strip the jacket from flat Romex cable with a 0.030-in-thick jacket. The tool came without instructions and I couldn’t quite figure out how to use it effectively, so I called the Southwire help line at 855-798-6657. They emailed me a copy of the one-page instructions. These instructions should be included with the tool, or at least downloadable from their website. The instructions were helpful, and it took me a couple of tries to get the hang of stripping the jacket. The 14-2 cable I’ve been running is only 3/16 inches thick and I’ve found that I have to squeeze the Strip-All all the way down to get the blade to contact the jacket. Stripping lengthwise is not too hard, but performing ring cuts across the cable are more challenging. All-in-all, it’s a useful tool, and it beats stripping with a utility knife. Made in USA

I was trying to update my wiring kit when I chose this stripper. It is light weight, solidly made and has an adjustable blade. It works very well on 10/3 and higher gauge wire. It works ok on 14/2 but requires a lot of pressure. It also works well on larger cables and even has the capability to strip the insulation off the end so that it can be inserted in the breaker of electrical panel. Over all a good investment because it takes away the danger of nicking a wire if using a utility knife.

The Southwire All Wire Stripper will handle large wiring from 3/8 in to 7/8 in wires. It’s large enough and tough enough to handle the larger wired. It even has a knob on top so you can adjust the depth of the cutting blade. It’s made of heavy-duty materials. The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star is that it’s a little hard for me to squeeze it while stripping the wiring.
