The Southwire Ergo Wire Stripper 10-18 AWG is a great wire stripper for standard, household, wiring applications. The ergonomic handle makes this easy to use, and should reduce fatigue on long jobs. The material is firm, but pliable enough to conform to the hand, and, likely, reduce vibration, as well. The locking mechanism is within easy reach of your thumb, allows you to safely lock the tool before putting it in your pocket, tool belt,or tool bag. This should reduce the chance of snagging it, or damaging other tools, or the pocket/belt/bag. The markings are well defined and clearly readable on the tool. And the range of motion the tool provides is very good, allowing for easy maneuvering in tight or awkward spaces.Pros: Nice grip, made in the good ol’ US of A, clear markings

I have used these strippers for about a week now. They have the quality and feel that I have come to expect from Southwire tools, excellent. Southwire seems to be very consistent with the tension of their strippers. This is my 5th pair of Southwire strippers and every pair is perfect. Loose enough to move freely but tight enough for a good clean cut every time. This holds true though the variety of different sizes and styles of my 5 strippers. I can’t say that there is a higher level of quality from this, Made in USA, style and the others I have. Although, it does feel good to support our own country.

The South Wire wire strippers perform perfectly. I’ve tried them on solid as well as stranded and they, (almost effortlessly) strip off the jacket without cutting the conductors. They also cut electrical outlet mounting screws, (8/32″) and faceplate mounting screws, (6/32″) down to size. What I like best is the ergonomic grip, (so comfortable). I would definitely buy them again.

I chose these wire strippers because they cover the range of wire gauges I use as a DIYer. They are very high quality and have a nice ergonomic design. They worked well stripping solid wire from 10 g through 18 g they are rated for and even worked on smaller gauge by angling them slightly to the wire. They also worked well with multi-strand wire covering the range of gauges. These are a very nice pair of wire strippers that fit my needs very well.
