First, I’ve owned about 5 different versions of the Nuwave/Flavorwave ovens and really like them. The halogen/infra-red cooking is perfect for most of the meals I cook, and they usually come out perfect. After my last one broke (power head gave out), I decided to buy the SPT unit because of the new heating element (FIR technology), and the dual use Wok base. The specs on the unit made it seem like the heating element would last longer, it would cook as well as the halogen system, and the Wok base wouldn’t have the problems of breaking. So far it really has exceeded my expectations. The simple dials are easy to manage, the unit cooks as well as any version of the Nuvwave ovens I’ve owned, and the quality build is superior to other units I’ve owned under different brand names. The price is great, the unit is easy to clean, and you pretty much cook just like you did with the Flavor wave. But if you want to brown something first on the stove with the Wok, it is an excellent option (like beef roast or pork loin). I think this is the best new version of the Nuwave style cooking. Definitely a good trade up selection.
