When a ferromagnetic cookware is placed on the ceramic surface, currents are induced in the cookware and instant heat is generated due to the resistance of the pan. Heat is generated to the pan only and no heat is lost. As there are no open flames, inductions are safer to use than conventional burners. Once cookware is removed, all molecular activity ceases and heating is stopped immediately.

this thing worked better than I expected, the first cook top that surpasses a gas burner for control and convenience! you can select to control by power level or by measured temperature and almost no heat is wasted. It heats the pan, not the cook top and will not go above the set temperature and burn. i plan to replace my range with a second one and a counter top convection oven. since i’m a vegan I don’t roast turkeys or anything so this is perfect for me!
