This seems to be a great 16 piece set that includes the bits and the center drill bits needed to use these. They are a lighter duty material with kind of a shallow cup so cutting thin gauge metal or thin wood products should not be an issue. A plus of this kit is the fact that it’s a one stop kit because of the various sizes and the plastic storage/carrying box that comes with it.

Great General purpose hole saw set for DIY and Woodworkers in general.Needing a hole saw set for my drill press and garage shop, I looked at many option and decided on this one. Since I almost never work with anything other than wood or drywall (no metal) I felt that this would be a great option and it is. This Stalwart set comes with 12 (!) saws, allowing you to drill holes ranging from 3/4” to 5” (again, !!), 2 arbors (one for the saws up to 1-1/2” and one for the saws larger), and a drive plate to help make the large hole saws work more efficiently. You can change out the drill bits on the arbors easily (they provide a hex key to do this) and putting the saws together is a snap. The saws are very sharp and while I cannot say how they will hold up over time I expect them to last quite a while with care. This is great kit to have around and I have already found a number of uses for it, including making bench dogs for my portable workbench. The cuts this saw makes have been clean and easy so far. While I don’t know how often I will use the large saws, I am sure they will come in handy (especially if i make my own CornHole bean bag game…).A couple of notes on this set: 1) it is NOT intended for metal, so keep that in mind (but you can buy individual bimetal saw blades for this if you need to do such and just use the provided arbors); 2) the case it comes in is a cheap plastic one and the last thing I bought that had a case like this the latch broke. I recommend getting a small bungee cord and use that around the case just in case it breaks; 3) the saws from 1-1/4” and smaller do not have size markings on them; for these you will have to determine size with your tape measure or by matching; and 4) you cannot directly drill a hole deeper than about 7/8”, as the saws are each only about 1”deep; since I almost never have to drill deeper than this it is not an issue and if I have to I will just drill as deep as I need and then chisel out some wood until I can finish the cut.Overall, I recommend this set; the first time you have to punch a large hole into wood, or do multiple holes, it will have paid for itself.

I needed to drill a 4″ hole in a piece of 3/4″ plywood and this did the trick. When using a hole saw I try to mark one side and drill about half way through and then switch side to cut from the other side to give a clean cut on both sides. This kit did the trick. The hole saw seemed to handle the plywood just fine and there doesn’t appear to be much wear on the teeth but one hole is not enough to really test it out. The biggest pro for me is that they all fit into a single low profile case that is easy to store. I have several other smaller ones rattling around in my tool bench and I can never seem to find the one I’m looking for. One con is these are pretty low profile so if you are planning on cutting thick material this may not be the set for you.

When this came in the mail i was surprised by how small the case is. The case is only about 2.5 inches thick and 8 inches wide. It is a nice case though and has a small footprint. The saws themselves are not very deep, just over an inch. The ones i used did work farely well. I drilled through some medium density fiberboard, a one inch piece of wood and a two by four. I was able to get through the mdf and the one inch very quickly. With the two by four i had to drill most of the way through and then finish through the other side. While it isn’t exactly what i was expecting it’s definitely worthwhile for a diyer who occasionally needs holes drilled. There are instructions, two mandrels and a small allen wrench included with the saws.

Works fine but seems a bit shallower

These will not work on wood 2” thick such as 2 x 6s. I have not tried these on plywood but they probably would do ok on 1/2” our less. I purchased these to use on foam and they worked great for that purpose.

Great 16 piece hole saw kit in its own plastic case! Very easy to use, by just attaching the arbor into the correct size hole saw, then the drive plate and tighten the nut on the arbor and drill your hole. You don’t use the arbor plate for the smaller hole saw, and but you use a different arbor and proceed the same way as with larger hole saw. These hole saws are very sharp and cut hole fast. Both size arbors come with pilot drill already in them, also come with a hex wrench to change the drill bit. These are made out of 45 carbon steel.

It did the work ! It is inexpensive, probably not for professional drilling on harder materials, but it worked well for the work I do at home

Entry level tool for short term. Overall, I would not consider this tool to withstand daily professional use, especially drilling in hard materials. Blow moulded case appears okay but of low quality. When using any size saw bit, they all tend to wobble as they rotate, which verify’s low quality to me. However, being used once in a while may suit many owners. Concept of many bit sizes in one case is good. With this in mind and being careful not to overload it’s ability, it should suit many applications.

I think this 16 piece hole saw kit is really handy for the average DIYer. It is handy that is all contained in a small package so it is easy to store and pieces don’t get lost. I tried a 4 in. and a smaller hole saw in the kit just to see how they worked. I used them on a 5/8th plywood scrap and found the small hole saw could get through the plywood fairly rapidly. However, the 4 in. hole saw took a long time and generated a lot of heat by the time it made I through. (I had to make a few stops to let the blade cool down before I got through the wood.) The teeth on the 4 in. saw are not very aggressive, so it felt like I was grinding my way through the plywood. However, on the plus side, because the teeth aren’t very aggressive so there wasn’t much tear-out on the exit side of the cut. This is a good hole cutting this kit if you want a wide range of sizes for cutting wood that isn’t very thick; want a kit that is self-contained and easy to store and doesn’t cost a lot; and you don’t do a lot of hole cutting.

This set worked. It didn’t cost a lot, but I wouldn’t use it too often as the quality isn’t that great. But I only had a few holes to make so it was fine.

This is a very useful hole saw set. It comes with 12 different size saws, the bit and mounts as well as a plastic case to keep it all in. The hole saws are decent quality. This can be used for drywall, plaster (according to the manufacturer, though I didn’t test this) and wood. I did test it on drywall and, though not the fastest I’ve ever used, it cut decently. You can use this on plywood though I don’t know it’ll work well on lumber. I tested it on 1/4″, 3/8″ and 1/2″. It cut the quarter inch well enough as it did on the 3/8 with noticeable strain. The 1/2″ was definitely a chore but it did go through. A good set to have around for very basic cutting but you won’t be zipping through wood like a hot knife through butter.
