Love this little handy box knife. I can use it anywhere anytime. Easy to hold, not heavy, slides real esay to open, comes with blades for use. Like with any sharp blade be careful you can cut your self. But if you do not have this Stanley Utility Knife you need to get one.

I CAN SEE THE PLACE FOR THIS KNIFE WITH THE ROUNDED TIP BLADE AND BEING SELF RETRACTING FOR SOMEONE OPENING CARTONS AND BOXES YOU COULD, USE IT AND DROP IT RIGHT BACK IN YOUR POCKET OR POUCH .AS BEING A CONTRACTOR THE BLADE AND SELF RETRACTION WOULD BE A NUSCENCE..THE KNIFE IS HEAVY DUTY AND BUILT WELL AND FEELS NICE IN THE HAND . WOULD LAST FOR YEARS.

I like the self-retracting feature but besides that, it’s super simple. It comes with 1 utility blade with round edges.

This is great for safety but can be difficult for long periods of prolonged use. Thumb gets tired.

I stumbled on this knife and gave it a try. The blade retracts when not in use which allows me to leave it on the work bench without worrying that my kids will grab it and cut themselves. The fact that it does not stay engaged makes accidents minimal. It can be a little tedious but depending on your home environment it was a great buy for a family handyman.

For safety, this knife has a self-retracting blade, which has a rounded point. I love the bright red color because it makes for easy finding when I place it down next to other tools. The hole at the end of the handle is convenient for placing a carabiner through and attaching it to your belt loop to keep it handy. Nice job Standly!

I like the auto retraction of blade. Safety is of a concern because utility blade left laying around.

I have been using this knife for over 2 months now and I have felt it’s integral to my day to day work. It’s body is solid and has a great grip, the safety feature auto-retracts the blade making it practical leaving it on the counter top while working with kids around. I have used this knife to cut packaging, cardboard and balsa wood for my projects and the two notch settings inside allow for extending or retracting the blade height accordingly. The only thing I miss is a clip for storing it in the tool belt.

This knife is handy beyond compare, usually I’m using a knife I’m bleeding from some place. Not with this, you simply extend the blade and while pulling on the knife the blade stays out as soon as there is no pressure (done cutting, slip off project or run past the end of the cut) the blade retracts in the blink of an eye, no contact with any skin. If you are one of those people that never accidentally cuts there self buy this just in case but if you nick yourself all the time buy this to stop the madness!

I know it sounds weird. I have multiple utility knives. But this one is always my go to. Comfortable in the hand and easy to extend and retract. If I misplace it I find myself ignoring other knives and looking for this one.

This is a vary solid knife. Most utility knifes simply fall apart when you insert a new blade. Stanleys utility knife was easy to load a new blade and simple to use. The retractable blade makes it the safes utility knife I own.

I received this utility knife for review. It has a great feel and balance. However i find the retractable feature cumbersome. I use several other Stanley utility knives I like better, 99E,10-499, and the old standby 299.

Shortly after getting this utility knife, I had to cut some composite material that required a good deal of pressure on the knife. This sturdy knife was perfect for the job, and the self-retracting feature was great. Although I always try to be safe with a utility knife, the fact that the blade retracted after I pulled past the end of the material I was cutting was comforting, to say the least.

I don’t know about anyone else but I can out the number of times I’ve nicked myself by not remembering to retract the blade on a utility knife. This self-retracting knife with rounded blade tip is the solution. While I won’t be getting rid of my locking blade knive for heavy duty tasks, this is ideal for opening boxes, cutting tape or string or any other occasional task. The only improvements I’d like to see in this product is a brighter safety orange finish and a more ergonomic side mounted blade actuator.

The self retracting safety feature is great for a lot of tasks and I find it convenient to just drop it in a pocket after each use. It came with a round point blade which I had never had before and found it to be an effective blade.

Very rugged utility knife. As soon as I had the knife in my hands I could tell that it was built with quality materials.

Safety safety safety. Plus, I need it a safe tool, as my wife might use it.
