One of the first tools I ever purchased when I started out in the trades. This knife has been in my belt or bag everyday since. It’s simple and I have never had a single problem with it. I love it. I also feel like I should mention Stanley blades are the only blades I ever use they stay sharp longer and can cut through anything.

I have a few of these and like how I always have a few spare blades inside it as needed.

I’m not sure what’s up with the reviews from people who had a hard time changing blades with and don’t like this knife. Retract the blade out as if you were going to use it, press the yellow button and the blade comes out. Easily. Press the button again, put a new blade in…done! The button is a lock that locks the blade in place. It stores up to five .25mm blades in the bottom part of the handle that’s also an easy to get to buttosn press. There is no need to take this knife apart. It’s not meant to come apart. It also has a belt cutter that I use constantly to strip small wires. I’ve had mine 4 years and love it!

I have owned this knife for several years and have used it for drywall, insulation, cutting boxes open and many more things. I bought it when I was drywalling my garage and was suffering from a cheap knife. Blade changes and quick and easy.

Seems to handle and work fine. My only concern is the button that allows access to the extra blade compartment. Being plastic if it snaps then the compartment will flap open uncontrollably

I am an art teacher. About this to use in the classroom for cutting cardboard and Matt bored. I don’t use it every day but it seems to be holding up very well and I like the grip.

I lost my Stanley 10-788 knife , so buying another. It’s a great utility knife. The tool-free blade storage is easy to use. For those having trouble changing blades: you have to extend the blade out all the way, then push the top button again and the blade will extend just a pinch farther, press the yellow release button on the side and the blade is easily removed. To replace the blade ensure the top button is fully extended, press the yellow button on the side seat the new blade. Beware that the blade will not be locked in the blade changing position, it will move just a bit when you first use it. This is the best utility knife I’ve ever used.
