It is a very versatile tool and after sharpening it I was able to get whisper thinking shavings.

Awesome purchase for the price

This chisel comes ready out of the box. If you do a lot of rabbets and fine joinery, it makes fitting joints so much easier. Shaving router or table saw joints to fit perfectly was always a challenge until I bought this little monster. Easy to adjust and holds the settings.

Have only had for about a month but has performed as intended with no issue at this point. Over all quality seems good and I am happy with it.

Overall this seems to be a good plane. The blade was flat and took only minutes to hone. The sides are square to the bottom. The sole is not flat. The portion in front of the throat was not in plane with the portion to the rear of the throat although just slightly. The rear portion of the sole had a slight hollow. It took about 45 minutes using adhesive backed sandpaper to get it level.

the plane was well made but fit and finish was poor. I worked for 2 hours with files and sand paper to remove sharp edges on the parts that meet your hand to make it comfortable to use.

I have been doing woodwork for a few years and have purchased several Stanley Sweetheart planes and other Sweetheart products in the last few months and have been pleased with the quality and finish of the tools. All have worked well out of the box with little cleanup and set up. Great tools and good service by Home Depot.

Great plane. Good iron. Needs to be sharped to get premium results

Base not quite 90 degrees from sides, so when using to shave tenons, shoulder will be off. Otherwise, OK. Finish good, blade cut OK. Suggest touch-up of blade to polish to razor-sharp edge.

Overall was ok at best, lots of unnecessary sharp corners an 1/16 out of square on the sole, Still I was able to tune it and it now works as is supposed to

GREAT worked with just a 6000 touch on blade

A very good shoulder plane from there new and old design. the the price is great. The plane does double duty and feals good in the hand. Remember a plane is only as good as the sharpness of the blade. a dull blade will make a very pricy plane work poorly

Ergonomic, feels good in the hand! Cutting is sharp and smooth

Wasn’t exactly ready for prime time out of the box. I took it apart, degreased it, flattened the sole (didn’t need much work) and sharpened the blade. Then reassembled and it works like a champ. Good tool for the price.

By no means is this the top of the line shoulder plane, but for the price it does very well. It came sharp and ready to use right out of the box, once you wipe the excess packing oil off it.

I checked this tool for squareness when I received it and it’s perfect. The blade as received is sharp enough but I recommend it be re-sharpened with a micro-bevel for perfect cuts. The very small incremental depth of cut changes is very nice. Good product, quality is what you’d expect from Stanley.

Great little plane. Razor sharp right out of the box. Shave paper thin with minimal tuning.

It is a sweet plane and for the price you can’t beat it.

Worked great right out of the box. Wish I had it last year!

This is the second #92 plane I purchased, the first one was returned due to poor machining and multiple scratches and nicks ( I know its a tool and not a sculpture, still, I like to put my own dings and scratches on it). So, this second one arrived in better condition but still not what I have come to expect from the Sweetheart series. Gunky grease on the moving parts, a raggedy edge on the iron, small scratches on the body but at least square and flat where it counts. After cleaning and honing it is very usable. Older and more favorable reviews of this plane mentioned Mexico as the country of origin, the two I recieved were made in China.
